The candidate plans, organizes and directs all security operations for the 711 HPW and subordinate organizations.
The Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), 711th Human Performance Wing (711 HPW), Management Operations (OM), Security (OMS), seeks to fill a senior-level, DO-04 Supervisory Security Specialist position at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Chief of Security, 711th Human Performance Wing.
Position duties include, but are not limited to:
- The candidate plans, organizes and directs all security operations for the 711 HPW and subordinate organizations.
- Plans, organizes, and directs all security operations for the 711 HPW and subordinate organizations, ensuring that administrative security programs comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meet customer needs.
- Ensures 711HPW personnel, information, technologies, resources and missions are properly protected.
- As the 711 HPW Security Division (OMS) Division Chief, and the 711 HPW Organizational Senior Functional (OSF) for security, performs a dual-hatted role in providing day-to-day security support for the missions, and management of security positions and personnel.
- Executes all security policies, processes, and force development plans as delegated by the HQ AFRL Security Center Senior Functional (CSF).
- Selects or recommends selection of candidates for vacancies, promotions, details, and reassignments in consideration of skills and qualifications, mission requirements, and EEO and diversity objectives.
- Provides security advice and risk mitigation recommendations to the 711 HPW Commander and subordinate organizations' Commanders and Directors.
- Directs and oversees Information Protection (which includes Information, Personnel, Industrial and Operations Security), Science & Technology (S&T) Protection, Special Access Program (SAP) and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Security, Cybersecurity for SCI and SAP information/systems/networks, and Physical Security for 711 HPW missions, classified and controlled unclassified information, technology development and facilities.
- Under the direction of the Installation Antiterrorism Officer, oversees execution of Unit Antiterrorism Representative duties.
- Plans/executes S&T Protection to enable Wing's acceleration/delivery of Human Performance knowledge products and expertise amid unprecedented adversarial threats.
- Plans/implements and oversees Wing's execution of Risk Identification and Security Countermeasures program to ensure collaborations with non-government entities are risk-informed.

- This position is a Special Sensitive (Top Secret/SCI) position. Applicants must possess or be eligible for at least a Secret Clearance and be eligible for and maintain a Top-Secret/SCI Clearance.
- This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment, and participation in random drug testing.
- This position requires the following certificate, IAW with AFI 36-2645: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC).
- Travel and/or performance of additional duties may be required.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year or 52 weeks of specialized experience at the next lower grade (DO-03/GS-14) of position being advertised, or equivalent in other pay systems.
