Join our team leading the transformation of the AFRL Digital Capabilities Execution Directorate. We are looking for a Systems Security Architect for the Architecture & Experimentation Division.
Position Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Design and implement comprehensive system security architectures that align with the Air Force Research Laboratory's (AFRL) digital transformation strategy and mission requirements, ensuring solutions meets diverse technical directorate and enterprise convergence needs.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of system security technologies and emerging trends, including cloud security, zero trust architecture, and identity and access management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional and multi-organizational teams to identify and prioritize system security projects, ensuring alignment with enterprise goals and objectives.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to system security teams, ensuring the use of best practices, industry standards, and emerging technologies.
- Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and develop system security solutions that meet their needs and expectations.
- Ensure the security, scalability, and reliability of system security architectures, with a focus on compliance with DoD and AFRL security requirements and implementation of zero trust principles.
- Design and implement system security solutions that support multiple security classification levels, ensuring the secure flow of data across different classification domains.
- Collaborate with Information System Security Managers and Authorization Official support team members during development of system authorization packages, including RMF requirements, to ensure compliance with DoD and AFRL security regulations.
- Collaborate with DoD and AF partners to align and integrate system security solutions with enterprise Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM) solutions, ensuring seamless authentication and authorization across the enterprise.
- Develop and maintain technical roadmaps for system security modernization and migration, identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement.
- Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in system security, including cloud security gateways, cloud access security brokers, ICAM solutions, and zero trust network architecture.
- Develop and maintain relationships with industry partners and vendors, identifying opportunities for collaboration and innovation in system security.

- Engineer (0800): To meet eligibility of an Engineer, applicants must meet the following basic requirements. Degree in Engineering. The program must have been ABET accredited. - Computer Scientist (1550): To meet eligibility of a Computer Scientist, applicants must meet the following basic requirements. Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions. - Must have at least one year of specialized experience at the DO/DR-02/GS-13 or equivalent grade level of position being advertised

Desired Qualifications
- Experience in leading organizational or functional teams in execution of multiple projects.
- Experience demonstrating technical leadership, technical management, and communication skills.
- Experience designing security architectures and frameworks successfully fielded for organization-wide usage.
- Experience leading geographically distributed collaborative teams in the Air Force.
- Experience creating solutions to be used in complex environments such as research laboratories or other technical organizations.
- IT project or program management experience including IT acquisition, resource allocation, requirements analysis, and designing services for solid customer interaction.
- Familiarity with Department of the Air Force and DoD systems and networks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills including the ability to manage and direct complex projects.
Ability to work with a diverse group of partners and stakeholders to solve problems and achieve shared solutions.
- Certifications meeting DoD 8140.03 Cyberspace Workforce Qualifications Management Program requirements for multiple work roles. Position to be aligned with work role of Software/Cloud Architect at intermediate level under DoD 8140.03, although other work role qualifications under DoD 8140.03 or former DoD 8570.01M guidance satisfy need pending further clarification from DoD on qualification matrices.
