    Welder - TMW - Jackson Job Description SUMMARY Joins metal components together using a predetermined weld process. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 3 to 6 years of Mig and Tig experience. Reads and understands blueprints Welds metal parts together per the weld process specification sheet. Performs welding on a wide variety of metals and alloys, as required on WPS and setup specs. Welds weldments where alignments, dimensional, and weld quality must conform. Uses weld fixtures, gauges, and jigs. Inspects parts using precision measuring equipment and documents inspection data. Cleans and organizes work area. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Must pass TMW-AWS D 14.3 Welder Qualification test EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE One year Technical Diploma; six months to one year related experience and/or training and a High School Diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos, as well as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information one-on-one to other employees of the organization MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
