    Job Description

    Purpose:

    The Account Specialist serves as the primary point of contact, who partners with Business Owners and Stakeholders across the organization, to provide high-level strategic, compliance and operational counsel for all consultancy needs. By providing timely support, the Account Specialist helps to deliver effective and compliant consulting engagements to meet strategic and tactical business needs. The Account Specialist develops strong relationships with all cross-functional partners and Business Owners to educate them on consultancy processes and ensure all global compliance requirements are met.

    Responsibilities:

    • Fosters long-term partnerships and serves as the point of contact within therapeutic area / business area of responsibility for all aspects associated with Global HCP / Customer Engagements to support AbbVie's business goals and objectives.
    • Participates in the planning process for all consulting engagements. Establishes schedule to ensure annual plans are created and approved to meet business needs to execute consulting agreements.
    • Works with Business Owners to understand their strategies and tactics; educates them on how to formulate and define scope and objectives of programs.
    • Reviews and approves contract requests to ensure a legitimate business need exists for the consulting activity.
    • Oversees consulting engagement process activities from beginning to end, ensuring global compliance requirements and timelines are met.
    • Responsible for compliance with country-specific laws and company and departmental policies and procedures for interacting with HCPs, HCOs and Patients globally.
    • Runs reports to track activities against plans; meets with Business Owners to identify whether activities will take place as planned; responsible for timely communication of status and issues that could impact program timelines.
    • Builds standardized communication templates and maintains training materials across diverse formats.
    • Participates in department initiatives and cross-functional projects, including testing system updates and presenting training on enhancements.
    • Proactively looks for ways to improve and streamline internal processes.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree and/or 3-5 years of work experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare industry
    • Collaboration: builds and maintains effective working relationship while collaborating with others possessing a strong sense of urgency, personal commitment and ownership of work
    • Communication: ability to communicate effectively, both written and orally, in a professional manner
    • Problem Solving: ability to develop solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity
    • Technical Skills: demonstrates excellent technical, systems and business process skills
    • Latitude and attention to detail: ability to work independently with a solid attention to detail within specified timeframes
    • Prioritization: must be able to adapt to changing business priorities and deliver results within timelines

    Ability to produce clear, concise, and professional communications to Business Owners and external HCPs/Customers.

    • Ability to schedule and prioritize activities based on understanding business / organizational needs
    • Demonstrates initiative; willing to take on additional responsibilities, multi-tasking and managing multiple projects in a cross-functional environment.
    • Ability to present and explain complex information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others and gains understanding and alignment.
    • Must demonstrate professionalism, strong customer focus and ability to exceed customer expectations.
    • Demonstrates thorough understanding of and can communicate all US/Global requirements associated with Group Consulting, Individual Consulting, Speaker Training, and Speaker Programs.
    • Provides solutions and contingency plans to facilitate business success. Demonstrates authority and decision-making ability.
    • Leverages knowledge of customer’s goals / priorities and is a strong partner to support those strategies and objectives. Holds self and team accountable for results.Experience:

    Key Stakeholders:

    Business Owners across the enterprise including Commercial, Medical Affairs, R&D, Public Affairs, Legal and OEC.

    Education: BS preferred

    Related experience: 3-5 years

Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.     • This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentive programs.
