    Job Description

    The Biomedical Engineer (with limited supervision from scientists and engineers) perform laboratory and engineering tasks including but not limited to: conducting experiments using energy-based device technologies, performing lab testing in tissue phantoms and animal tissue, operate complex lab instrumentation, data collection and analysis, image processing, create or modify technical drawings in CAD and perform FEA simulations, bioinformatics, statistical analysis, write technical reports, performing literature searches and summarizing findings in presentations.

    Responsibilities:

    • Simulation of biological and physical processes with COMSOL Multiphysics
    • Support device development with simulation, CAD, and bench testing
    • Data analysis using Excel, MATLAB, etc.
    • Lab measurements: temperature, force, phase change, thermal properties, etc.
    • Assist in pre-clinical and clinical studies
    • Scientific literature search and writing summaries
    • Experiment design, measurements, data recording and analysis
    • Manage wet-laboratory supplies and maintenance of lab devices
    • Interface with external analytical laboratories

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Bachelor of Science degree in Bioengineering, Biomedical engineering, Biotechnology, or Mechanical engineering (with proven experience in biomedical related projects)
    • Experience working in laboratory settings including collecting and analyzing data
    • Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks or Creo)
    • Experience in programming and data analysis using one of the following: Python, Jupyter Notebooks, or MATLAB

    Preferred Requirements:

    • Familiarity with FEA tools such as COMSOL or ANSYS

    Other Required Skills:

    • Excellent organizational and written communications skills
    • Ability to produce accurate work to tight deadlines
    • Competence in MS-Office applications: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
