    Job Description

    Purpose:

    Team member is responsible for most purchases within the Foodservice unit, including but not limited to broadline food purveyor, beverages, specialty produce, and specialty grocery. Align purchases with Foodservice budget plan. Responsible for majority of Foodservice spend, and the assurance of delivery. Team with management to insure SAP payment of all invoices within the unit. Coordinate transfer of goods between Foodservice locations as needed.

    Responsibilities:

    • Assists Chef in all aspects of purchasing (e.g., Food, Beverage and Controllable) to ensure quality and meet business needs. Advises management of purchasing requirements with a focus on minimizing waste and avoiding product shortages.
    • Enforces first in/first out inventory rotation for all storeroom products maintaining proper levels of inventory, levels and requisitions.
    • Advises management of purchasing requirements with a focus on minimizing waste and avoiding product shortages.
    • Assures compliance with ordering, receiving, storing and sanitation procedures and best practices.
    • Audits invoices on goods received against shipment to ensure quantity, quality, weights, and purchase specifications are as ordered.
    • Communicates with kitchen, management, and vendors to ensure timing of deliveries satisfies advanced food production needs.
    • Completes administrative tasks on a timely manner including purchasing cards and exchanging information with supervisors, co-workers, and vendors by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person. Uses computer systems to enter data or process information from broadline supplier.
    • Influences food services team by advocating for sound financial/business decision making and demonstrating honesty and integrity.

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or GED
    • Valid drivers license; good driving record
    • Four years food service purchasing or equivalent experience
    • ServSafe Certification is preferred.
    • Computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products including Excel.
    • Overtime required, some weekend work, flexible work schedule at times
    • Proactive team player, flexible with strong organizational skills.

Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
