    Job Description

    Lead a regional team of Advanced Access Supervisors and Specialists, and Insurance Analysts. Understand the dynamics of all plans and accounts within the assigned region and providing continuous education to the team and support with escalations. Manage key accounts and collaborate with Field Reimbursement Managers (FRMs) and Health Care Provider (HCP) accounts across all therapeutic areas. Build and maintain strong relationships with FRMs and FRM leadership through regular touchpoints is crucial for effective cross-collaboration in supporting patients, as well as to monitor progress at the account level. Engage with HCP offices to ensure the team provides the necessary support and handles any escalations or complex access issues. Analyze access challenges at both the account and territory levels, work collaboratively with offices, and engage with FRMs to deliver educational solutions. Monitoring trends and facilitating early identification and intervention are also key.

    Responsibilities:

    • Build strong relationships with internal business partners, collaborating to deliver results, hitting key launch timelines, improving effectiveness, and assisting in delivering a high quality, streamlined patient experience.
    • Manage a portfolio of key accounts, ensuring strategic alignment with Field Reimbursement Managers (FRMs) and Health Care Provider (HCP) accounts across all therapeutic areas.
    • Build and sustain strong, collaborative relationships with FRMs and their leadership to optimize cross-functional efforts in patient support.
    • Engage directly with HCP offices to guarantee the team provides appropriate levels of support and addresses any escalations or complex access matters.
    • Ensure team compliance with the appropriate ways of working and AbbVie rules of Engagement.
    • Identify and analyze access challenges at both the account and territory levels, working proactively with offices and FRMs to implement educational solutions. Monitor and assess trends within the region to enable early identification and intervention in addressing potential issues.
    • Measure and analyze key performance metrics related to patient access programs and drive continual process improvement and optimization.
    • Manage a team of supervisors, specialists, and Insurance Analysts. Provide continuous education and updates to the team, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of account dynamics and therapeutic areas. Use effective coaching and management techniques to maintain a highly motivated and interactive workplace.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree required, with preferred fields in health sciences or business.
    • Minimum of 6 years of experience in the healthcare industry with knowledge in reimbursement, billing, prior authorization, appeals, and specialty pharmacy operations.
    • Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in a call center, large physician, managed care, or healthcare insurance setting desired. Proven leadership and coaching skills. Demonstrated ability to lead and participate within a team, manage multiple priorities and meet associated timelines while maintaining accuracy.
    • Thorough understanding of the technical payer policy processes, systems and requirements for coverage.
    • Demonstrated understanding of the rules, regulations and risks associated with provision of reimbursement support services and how to monitor and mitigate those risks. Demonstrated deep technical understanding of coverage, coding, payment and distribution of specialty products and the rules and regulations that govern provision of reimbursement support.
    • Must have professional written and verbal communication skills to interact with and build and maintain relationships with all levels of the organization. Must maintain a positive service image at all times even when dealing with challenging issues and unsatisfied customers.
