    Job Description

    Purpose:

    The team focuses on streamlining scientific operational processes involving the following areas: Scientific Publications originating out of, or in partnership with, the Discovery organization, Compliance which includes communicating expectations and training regarding appropriate interactions with Health Care Providers (HCPs), Non-Clinical Contract Administration which includes payments per contract terms. Under limited direction of project leadership, provides operational and logistical support for internal and/or less complex external initiatives across one or more business processes and/or one or more therapeutic areas or collaborations.

    Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for processing Discovery Research Publications through compliant AbbVie Processes
    • Ability to submit completed contract requests for procurement to action on with minimal follow-up
    • Responsible for ensuring information required for the business processes is accurate and available to stakeholders in a timely manner. This includes updating and/or adding content to databases or Sharepoint sites with limited guidance and supervision. Responsible for ensuring data entered produces, precise, reproducible, and timely results on an ongoing basis. Responsible for providing project management and logistical support for one project team or several initiatives.
    • Identifies problem areas in day-to-day execution of one or more business processes, independently generates ideas and identifies broader systemic issues. Responsible for ongoing collection of best practices. Identifies opportunities to gain efficiencies on assigned projects or initiatives. Leads the local internal implementation plan.
    • Develops and executes a local work plan consistent with good project management practices. Develops initial draft of communication materials needed to execute and track against the work plan with project leadership guidance.
    • Responsible for ensuring timely document sharing and archiving via SharePoint or related technology of business process outcomes to internal partners within the team and to appropriate stakeholders outside of the department and/or company. Coordinates presentation materials and generations of interim scientific reports as needed.
    • Proactively ask questions and knows when and to whom issues should be escalated. Establishes new relationships to resolve issues
    • Must provide adequate pressure to project teams or business partners to meet timeline and deliverables.
    • Perform business process assignments/tasks competently and independently, and generates reliable and consistent results in support of the pre-clinical pipeline initiatives and/or project work. Resolves less complex issues independently and with appropriate urgency.
    • Manages confidential information and documentation. Understands AbbVie's policies and procedures and may be involved with the implementation of changes into the broader organization.
    • Must be able to interact with all levels of management and employees in support of project coordination.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelors with 4+ years (or 8-10 years equivalent work experience) of experience / Masters with no prior experience.
    • Good written and verbal communication skills
    • Able to manage multiple projects concurrently and continually reassess the priority of simultaneous projects and deadlines
    • Scientific background and experience (preferred)
    • Process and/or Project Management training, experience and/or certification preferred
    • Requires excellent computer skills such as: Word, Excel, MS Project, SharePoint, Access, and PowerPoint.
    • Be self-directed and work well in a team and with external customers. Comfortable working in a collaborative and Clear & Courageous manner with senior level internal and external customers.

    • The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

    • We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off (vacation, holidays, sick), medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.

    • This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentive programs. ​​
