Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Managing/Administering instrument lifecycle projects (installations, qualifications, moves, profiling, decommissions) including collaborating with partners (both internal and external)
- Serving as an administrator for a wide range of analytical scientific software. This includes troubleshooting user issues, providing computing and data support to instruments, and liaising with BTS.
- Authoring or reviewing qualification related documentation, including experimental protocols, results summaries, and software configuration documents. May include execution of instrument qualification protocols.
- Assessing data integrity control attributes for scientific software and suggest appropriate controls/configurations.
- Participating in Out of Tolerance investigations related to instrument calibration in collaboration with Calibration, QA, and Lab functions.
- Communicates cooperatively with peers and routinely communicates with supervisor by keeping supervisor informed of results, problems including subtle problems and likely potential problems.
- Ability to recognize and resolve problems. Draws conclusions from the technical data to solve problems. Supervisor or technical staff provide occasional direction for problem solving and they may provide technical references and resources
- Follows, understands and complies with AbbVie SOP’s and policies on cGMP’s and safety. Maintains a clean, safe and organized lab area.
- Completes assigned tasks in a timely manner. May assist others in their projects and may direct non-scientists.
Qualifications
Required:
- BS degree in Science or equivalent; with 3-5 years of experience preferred. OR
- MS degree in Science or related field; with 1-3 years of experience preferred.
- Has basic computer knowledge and analytical testing experience in wet chemical, physical property testing, chromatography and/or spectrometric methods. Is knowledgeable of basic compliance requirements.
- Has some problem solving abilities. Good organizational skills. Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
- Can function as a team player. Must be able to work with Commercial Operations to determine prioritization of projects and meet tight deadlines. Use good judgment and make sound decisions. Needs to be adaptable and maintain the ability to be flexible in an ever changing and challenging environment.
Preferred:
- Experience in software administration
- Familiarity with analytical chemistry instrumentation
- Familiarity with Maximo, LIMS, Empower
