    Position Summary:

    The Information and Data Analytics & Visualization discipline has a critical importance for Bristol Myers Squibb to enable a data-driven culture and fully harness the power of data. Data architecture enables cross-functional information exchange, system integrations, analytic capabilities, and creates the foundation for AI & ML capabilities. As part of the GDD Data & Analytics team the incumbent will gain visibility into business processes by supporting data landscapes for multiple functional areas such as (but not limited to) Global Clinical Development, R&D Portfolio Operations, Global Regulatory Sciences, Global Biometrics and Data Sciences, Worldwide Patient Safety etc.

    Accountable for driving information and data architecture decisions for digital capabilities, understanding the landscape of data needs as a key link between business processes and information systems, creating and maintaining UI/UX experience, including data models and information blueprints, rapid prototyping, and wireframe and use various business intelligence tools, full-stack front-end development tools. Act as key member of project delivery teams supporting the needs of the project while applying an enterprise data product mindset for developing data and information flow diagrams and data models.

    Partners with GDD IT Product Owner/Business Partner(s), Business Unit stakeholders, Data Partners, and broader community of Information/Data architects across the enterprise, to develop and sustain the GDD data strategy and target data architecture. Drives the evolution of BMS Information architecture and analytical solutions, adhering to information and data architecture principles, guidelines, and standards in partnership with broader data architecture community. Drives decisions on appropriate information and data integration architecture patterns.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • The Senior Data Visualization Engineer will be responsible for analyzing, designing, and developing data products that meet the needs of stakeholders.

    • Develop project and portfolio user interfaces like report visualizations and dashboards as a key capability and value driver.

    • User research: Conducting user research to understand user needs, behaviors, and pain points. This may involve surveys, interviews, and usability testing.

    • Designing user interfaces: Designing user interfaces that are intuitive, user-friendly, and visually appealing. This may involve wireframing, prototyping, and creating high-fidelity designs to enhance user experience.

    • Information architecture: Creating information architecture that organizes information and content in a way that is easy to access and navigate.

    • Usability testing: Conducting usability testing to evaluate the effectiveness of user interfaces and make improvements.

    • Collaboration with stakeholders: Collaborating with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure that the user experience aligns with business objectives and technical requirements.

    • Accessibility: Ensuring that digital products and services are accessible to users with disabilities and comply with accessibility guidelines.

    • Help analyze data multiple sources of spectrum-related information, recommend and develop reports, and coach stakeholders on visualization enhancements for our products.

    • Staying up-to-date with industry trends: Keeping up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in UX design and technology, and applying this knowledge to enhance the organization's UX design capabilities.

    • Responsible for the development of KPIs to assess health of the portfolio including time, financial & quality at the study, program, and portfolio level.

    • Serves as the Subject Matter Expert on GDD Data & Analytics Solutions and build domain knowledge of the GDD specific area

    • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with minimal oversight.

    • Mentors other team members effectively to unlock full potential.

    • Prior experience working in an Agile/Product based environment.

    • Provides strategic feedback to vendors on service delivery and balances workload with vendor teams.

    Qualifications & Experience:

    • Minimum of 4-6 years proven working experience as a product Data Visualization Engineer and/or Visualization developer.

    • Minimum of 4-6 years Hands on experience and high proficiency in a Data Visualization / BI Tools like Tableau (is a MUST), SpotFire and/or R-Shinny etc.

    • Experience with rapid wireframing, prototyping and storyboarding tools like Miro boards, and Figma tool set.

    • Fluent in Front-end products (React, Angular) on modern JS and web technologies including iOS/Android/Web, Speech, Chatbot etc., is preferred.

    • Experience designing for both responsive and fixed size applications.

    • Ability to wireframe, prototype, apply Design thinking principles and validate data products.

    • Technical expertise in product design and development, data visualization techniques with a builder mindset is a plus.

    • Knowledge of statistics, data sciences and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (SAS, R, R-Shiny etc.) is a plus.

    • Familiarity with database and ETL processes from Information management and consumption standpoint is needed.

    • Experience with cloud-based data technologies such as Tableau Cloud, AWS.

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    • Experience and expertise in establishing agile and product-oriented teams that work effectively with teams in US and other global BMS site.

    • Prior experience in working with global life sciences discovery or clinical data is a plus.

    • Knowledge of Global Drug Development functions (Portfolio and operations, Clinical development, Biometrics & Data Science, Regulatory, Patient Safety) is a plus.

    Education:

    • BS/BA in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or Life Sciences (or other quantitative related discipline) preferred. Graduate Degree is a plus.
