Position Summary
Chemical Process Development (CPD) is a world-leading chemical development organization, located within GPS-Product Development, working to rapidly bring innovative medicines to patients. The Analytical function is seeking an innovative, impactful, and highly talented NMR spectroscopy specialist to join our Isolation and Structure Elucidation (ISE) team in New Brunswick, NJ. This individual will apply their NMR expertise to problem-solve a variety of pharmaceutical challenges and provide unambiguous structural elucidation of small molecules. Cross-functional collaboration and a mind-set of innovation and growth is critical. Key Responsibilities
Impact the BMS development and commercial portfolio
Influence process and formulation development for small molecule and biologic therapeutics
Continued technical development through the application of high-field NMR for the structure characterization of both known and unknown synthetic chemical entities
Be part of a collaborative team of highly skilled chemists to solve chemical structures using 1D and 2D multinuclear, solution-state NMR techniques on state-of-the-art, high-field NMRs (400-700 MHz) equipped with conventional and cryoprobe technology
Expand their technical knowledge and structure elucidation skills using high resolution MS and MS/MS
The successful candidate will also:
Utilize semi-preparative chromatography to isolate impurities and degradants from synthetic products and solve their chemical structures by 1&2D NMR and high-resolution MS
Provide focused written communication and oral presentations that highlight the impact and innovation of their work
Have a passion for solving challenging structure elucidation problems
Influence scientists and initiatives that improve efficiency, productivity, and evolution of the team’s structure elucidation capabilities
Collaborate with other subject matter experts by routinely engaging in active scientific discussions
Deliver high quality data within timelines to continually develop project knowledge, meet project goals, and enable capabilities within the department
