    Job Description

    Purpose

    Responsible for the scheduling and performing of preventative and demand maintenance tasks for production and facility equipment; diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues. Provides guidance and assistance to outside tradesman to assure timely completion of assigned activities.

    Responsibilities

    • Maintains equipment performance in a safe, optimal state through the application of the preventative maintenance program to meet quality, production standards and GMP condition with minimal downtime.
    • Work includes troubleshooting, ordering, and installation of parts on equipment. Modify and manage PMs accordingly.
    • Work as multi skilled tradesman to include light machining work, utilizing lathes and mills, basic electrical work and light pipefitting as well as working on special assignments such as Factory Acceptance Testing.
    • Returns equipment to service after a breakdown with minimal impact to production including management of spare parts.
    • Works with engineering and vendors to develop/modify and implement appropriate PM job plans.
    • Makes recommendations for equipment improvements or new technologies which may improve reliability or efficiency.
    • Reviews construction plans and/or equipment designs to determine the appropriateness of design and conformance to AbbVie Engineering Standards.
    • Responsible for meeting time commitments and following priorities based on maintenance and production schedules with limited supervision.
    • Assists in ensuring that GMP and safe work policies and procedures are followed and maintained at all times.
    • Utilizes computer systems for documenting maintenance activities in a timely, compliant manner.

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma and 5+ years of experience or 2+ years of experience with certification, apprenticeship or degree.
    • Proven mechanical aptitude and well versed in the use of hand tools.
    • Experience or demonstrated ability to direct the work of others.
    • General computer skills including Word, Excel and Maximo.
    • Must possess good verbal and written communication skills, and must have excellent interpersonal skills to successfully interface with production, engineering staff, and various development and maintenance groups.
    • Must be a self-starter and capable of organizing his or her work as well as the work of outside contractors.
    • Must be capable of providing training to production operators in the use of equipment.

Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.     • This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentive programs.
