JOB DESCRIPTION
The Electronic Tech/Field Customer Support operates under the direct supervision of the Equipment Systems Support Manager. They perform repairs, updates and inspections in order to maintain all Lifetouch equipment such as cameras, computer systems, cables, sport systems, and lighting equipment as well as other miscellaneous equipment supported by Equipment and Systems Support.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Repairs, trouble-shoots, assembles, tests, designs, modifies, analyzes, and maintains Lifetouch equipment.
- Provides trouble shooting over phone with internal customers
- May travel to other Lifetouch facilities for equipment installation, repair or training (< 5% of the time)
- Test and repair assemblies and subassemblies for the Equipment and Systems Support equipment (may include field service). Measured by accurate trouble shooting and fast turnaround of repairs.
- Builds assembly and test fixtures that will allow any assembly to be built to the highest degree of quality and reliability possible. Measured by quality assemblies being placed in stock.
- Help write process sheets for repairs, and for each assembly or have any assembly notes necessary added to the blueprint.
- Recognize any problem an Assembler or repair person may have during the assembly process and eliminate the problem using fixtures or whatever means necessary to correct the problem. Measured by the smooth problem free process of an assembly.
- Work with Lead people to insure proper use of fixtures.
- Does spot checks of assemblies in process to insure completeness and quality.
- Work with and make suggestions to Leads/ Supervisors that may create higher quality more functional assemblies.
- Other duties as assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
- High school diploma.
- Minimum requirement is 2 years electronic schooling or equivalent experience.
OTHER (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES):
- Dedication to building defect free camera.
- Able to work in a deadline driven environment.
- Able to work unusual hours at short notice, including overtime.
- Able to lift up to 35 lbs.
- Good communication skills, written and verbal.
- Good customer service skills.
- Basic Computer skills, such as knowledge of Windows XP, 7, 10
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Work, Excel, etc.)
- Basic networking skills are a plus
- Database management skills are a plus
- Knowledge or experience with continuous improvement initiatives like LEAN manufacturing is a plus.
