    KPMG is currently seeking a Tax Associate for our Accounting Methods and Credit Services practice in Business Tax Services.

    Responsibilities:

    • Perform tax-related tasks involving tax compliance to a variety of clients including corporations, partnerships and S-corporations and work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to develop and sustain excellent client relationships
    • Assist in analyzing the tax aspects of various business processes and operational areas, including inventory, revenue recognition, capitalization, expense recognition, research and development, other federal credits and incentives and fixed assets from both a risk and opportunity perspective
    • Participate in evaluating client accounting methods, fixed assets and federal business credits and incentives for all industries, including high-tech, pharmaceutical, industrial and manufacturing clients
    • Partake in client visits and tours, including research manufacturing facilities to document and calculate client credits and incentives while working with new and innovative technologies, including artificial intelligence
    • Identify, research and analyze various tax technical topics and keep up to date on current tax practices and changes in tax legislation
    • Gather, review and assist in the analysis of client financial data and technical documentation, including drafting of technical memoranda applying current tax guidance to client specific facts
    • Build capabilities in key technologies that enable tax professionals for client service delivery such as artificial intelligence (AI), Alteryx, Power BI, and more

    Qualifications:

    • Must be pursuing and have obtained by the start date or have completed the following degrees/majors in the past 12 months: JD and/or LLM, or equivalent program from an accredited college or university
    • Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above
    • Minimum one year of prior work experience at a professional services firm preferred
    • Demonstrated quality service mindset; strong technical aptitude, critical thinking skills and ability to navigate MS Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook
    • Excellent communication, time management and leadership skills; flexible and adaptable team player; and resourceful in delivering high quality work
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and take ownership of assigned tasks
    • Ability to learn and navigate technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), Alteryx and Power BI
    • Must reside within a reasonably commutable distance to the office for this position and be able to travel to reasonably commutable work locations using own means of transportation, such as a personal vehicle or public transportation
    • Ability to travel and/or work on-site at client premises as needed, at times with relatively short notice
