    Toll Brothers, America's leading luxury home builder, seeks a Land Development Estimator to join our team at our Corporate office located in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania.

    What is the opportunity?

    The Land Development Estimator is responsible for all aspects of Earthwork Analysis, including Geotechnical Analysis and Volume Reports. In addition, the Estimator role includes generating both Preliminary and Conceptual cost estimates. Work closely with Land Development Managers, Engineers, Land Planners and Acquisition Managers. Review cost estimates with Estimating team and Land Development Managers.

    What are the primary responsibilities?

    • Earthwork
      • Generate balance between existing surface and design surface using Agtek software.
      • Incorporate geotechnical information for subsurface analysis.
      • Produce volume calculations and Cut/ Fill Maps.
      • Review and Interpret balance for reporting.
    • Estimating
      • Calculate Volume, Area and Lengths from Site Improvement Plans and Conceptual Plans.
      • Produce Estimates by applying prices to quantity takeoff calculations.
      • Peer review with colleagues for detail and accuracy.
      • Review Cost Estimates with Land Development Management.
      • Maintain and Update Cost Database with recent pricing from Land Development Managers.

    Qualifications

    • Competencies:
      • Analytical thinking; able to collect, sort and analyze data: Intermediate
      • Communicate effectively in writing and verbally: Intermediate
      • Time management: complete projects accurately and on time: Intermediate
    • Software Knowledge:
      • Agtek 3D modeling software : Beginner/ Intermediate
      • AutoCAD: Intermediate
      • Microsoft Excel: Intermediate
      • Google Earth: Beginner/ Intermediate

    Do you have these qualifications?

    • Essential:
      • Prior experience working on residential subdivisions or heavy civil/site projects.
      • Willingness to learn and contribute in a team environment.
      • Proficient/ Strong math and computer skills.
      • Interpret basic and complex construction plans and perform accurate takeoffs.
      • Ability to critically review construction plans and earthwork models, highlighting foreseeable costs and concerns.
      • Good understanding of site grading, storm drainage, sanitary, water, and roadway construction.
      • Collaborate with Land Development Field Managers, Engineers, Land Planners and Acquisition Managers.
      • Ability to maintain confidentiality on work assignments, work independently and meet deadlines.
    • Preferred:
      • Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Engineering, Land Planning, or related field.
      • Two to Five (2-5) years of experience in residential construction.
      • Experience with Agtek 3D modeling software.
      • Experience working with AutoCAD.
      • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.
