    The Maintenance Technician Trainee is responsible for assisting in the basic maintenance and orderliness of the property to ensure optimal operations and client/tenant satisfaction. This is a developmental role that works closely with the onsite engineering team and includes job shadowing, formal training and practical application to learn the core functions of a Maintenance Technician.

    Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for assisting in completion of work orders for tasks related to the physical maintenance and repairs of the assigned buildings utilizing work order related software programs
    • Responsible for assisting in implementing routine physical improvements
    • Respond to emergency situations in accordance with departmental protocol
    • Assist Supervisor in establishing and maintaining all equipment, tools, supplies in stock, inventories and logs
    • Communicate effectively to appropriate individuals building status and changes
    • Adhere to all safety standards, policies & procedures, codes of conduct and best practices
    • Act in a professional and courteous manner at all times with tenants, hospital clients, co-workers, vendors, patients, etc.
    • Utilize materials, supplies, tools and other building property in a safe, productive manner
    • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

    Qualifications:

    • High school graduate or GED preferred; technical school training in maintenance-related courses is preferred
    • Customer service experience is preferred
    • Strong interpersonal skills to ensure teamwork and positive client/tenant/co-worker relations
    • Be able to take directions and follow instructions
    • Must be safety conscious
    • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks to ensure accuracy and timely completion
    • Basic aptitude for mathematics
    • Capable of doing extensive walking, climbing of stairs and ladders, lifting/carrying a minimum of 50 pounds by applying proper body mechanics
    • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
