For more information about the firm please visit our website at - POSITION SUMMARY: The Advanced Analytics team is responsible for leveraging statistical and analytical techniques to drive the firms distribution strategy, inform senior leadership decisions, and have a quantifiable impact on sales. As an Analyst your role will identify and present to senior leaders competitive advantage opportunities through statistical analysis of client, market and third-party data. RESPONSIBILITIES: - Use best practices to develop statistical, machine learning techniques to build models that address business needs - Design, execute and deploy projects aimed at solving high-impact business problems using machine learning, natural language processing, and related data science techniques - Work on data and business problems to drive improved business results through designing, building, and partnering in the implementation of models - Manage data and data requests to improve the accuracy of our data and decisions made from data analysis - Use and learn a wide variety of tools and languages to achieve business results (R, SQL, Python, Tableau) - Collaborate in the teams efforts in improving the development of effective business decision making through the use of data and machine learning/predictive modeling - Develop a strong asset management business acumen that can identify business problems and develop optimal modeling approaches that address those problems - Communicate to team members, leadership and stakeholders on findings to ensure models are well understood and incorporated into business processes - Develop and execute a communication strategy, with appropriate coaching, that keeps all relevant stakeholders informed and provides an opportunity to influence the direction of the teams work QUALIFICATIONS: Required - Bachelors degree, preferably in the sciences and one year of data science/modeling experience or enrolled in and actively pursuing a Masters degree program related to data science, statistics, mathematics or engineering - SQL experience or a si milar relational database platform such as Oracle - Experience developing statistical models levering R or Python - Tableau experience preferred - Prior experience in financial services preferred Desired - Ability to effectively communicate complex information and analysis in written and graphical form to deliver storylines that influence senior business leader decisions - Knowledge of advanced statistical data analysis and modeling methods - Experience with data mining, machine learning, natural language processing, and data visualization - Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to work collaboratively across multiple business areas - Familiarity with conventional software development languages such as Scala, JavaScript, C# and Java Equal Employment Opportunity is not just the law, its our commitment.
