Job Description:
The Senior Systems Analyst, Financial Planning Systems is responsible for the operational management and enhancements of the planning systems and data across all business units and corporate FP&A . This individual’s primary responsibility will be to design, develop, maintain, monitor, and enhance the performance and functionality of the planning and reporting processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operational Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve the current multisystem (Vena, Yardi, and Argus) planning environment for segment and corporate FP&A teams.
- Manage day to day system administration and support the FP&A team to help understand and use the financial tools and data effectively
- Maintain data integrity and accuracy across financial planning and reporting systems
- Provide systems support for monthly and quarterly forecasting and reporting processes
- Utilize Extract, Transform Load (ETL) tools to provide additional data transformations between systems
- Manage vendors for support, periodic upgrades, escalation, etc.
- Enhancements and Projects
- Collaborate with finance stakeholders and IT teams to create and document business requirements
- Lead, drive, and refine systems were needed to support existing and new requirements with minimal disruptions
- Design, build and roll out new solutions for planning, data management, and reporting
- Support FP&A's ongoing data needs
- Advance efforts to move offline and Excel work into systems
- Perform other duties that support the overall objectives of the position and the department
The position requires
- Knowledge of finance, financial methods, tools, reporting, and strategies
- Experience with administration and development of planning systems such as Vena,Argus, Anaplan or Hyperion
- Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) such as Yardi
- Knowledge of financial planning and reporting processes and terminology
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) with advanced skill level in Excel and Power Query Excel functions
- Ability to demonstrate strong analytical, quantitative, and investigative skills to understand business concerns and challenges
- Ability to manage multiple deliverables and competing priorities
- Ability to engage effectively across all levels and various functions in the organizations
- Ability to demonstrate excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on data integrity and financial acumen
- Ability to handle and maintain confidential information
- Ability to work independently as a self-starter in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to demonstrate excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Occasional after-hours work is required
- Occasional travel as needed
Experience:
- 5-7 years in industry or consulting with 2 years emphasis on planning systems
- Experience in implementing and administering a planning system, preference for Vena
- Experience designing conceptual, logical, and physical data models
- Experience with data transformation and dashboard reporting tools such as Power BI and Tableau
- Experience in developing and disseminating detailed reports to executives
- Experience in the real estate industry is preferred
- Demonstrated Project Management Skills
- Strong Change Management Skills
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, or related field
