Job Title: Architectural Quality Assurance Manager (Code Compliance)
Location: Birmingham, AL (On-Site, 5 Days/Week)
Salary Range: $80,000 - $125,000 per year
Benefits: Paid Time Off, Health Benefits
Who We Are:
We don’t just design buildings—we shape learning environments for the next generation. As a premier architectural design and consulting firm, our name is synonymous with excellence in K-12 public school projects. We believe in precision, quality, and lasting impact. Now, we’re looking for a meticulous Architectural QA/QC Specialist to help us uphold and elevate our standards.
Who You Are:
You are obsessed with the details—the kind of person who catches the one misplaced dimension in a 100-page set of drawings. You believe that architecture isn’t just about creativity but about execution, compliance, and durability. You understand that when we design a school, we’re designing for thousands of students, teachers, and communities that rely on us to get it right.
What You’ll Do:
Own the Quality Standard – Establish and enforce best practices in QA/QC for all architectural documents and project deliverables.
Review, Revise, Refine – Conduct thorough document reviews, catching errors before they become costly mistakes in the field.
Collaboration is Key – Work closely with architects, project managers, and consultants to ensure accuracy and consistency in design.
Code and Compliance Guardian – Ensure designs adhere to local, state, and national building codes, ADA requirements, and educational facility guidelines.
Field Verification – Conduct site visits to compare project execution to design intent, identifying discrepancies before they escalate.
Process Innovation – Improve existing QA/QC processes to enhance efficiency without compromising attention to detail.
Mentor and Lead – Train junior staff on quality control methodologies, helping to instill a culture of precision across the firm.
What You Bring to the Table:
Experience: 8+ years in an architectural firm, ideally with a focus on QA/QC.
Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction documentation, specifications, and the technical side of architectural design.
Software Savvy: Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD; familiarity with Bluebeam and other quality control tools is a plus.
Code Expertise: Deep knowledge of building codes, particularly as they relate to K-12 and educational facility projects.
Eagle Eye for Detail: The ability to spot inconsistencies, errors, and omissions before they become problems.
Strong Communicator: Ability to clearly articulate corrections and improvements to team members at all levels.
Why Join?
Impact Beyond Design – Your work directly affects the success of schools and communities.
Collaborative Culture – Work alongside talented, passionate professionals in a supportive, team-driven environment.
Competitive Compensation – A salary that reflects your expertise, with a benefits package to match.
Commitment to Excellence – A company that prioritizes quality, both in our work and in our workplace.
