    Civil Project Engineer II

    Location: Davenport, IA

    Years of Experience: 5-10 Years

    Role Overview:

    Our client, a leading Civil and MEP engineering firm, is seeking an experienced Civil Project Engineer to join their team in Davenport, IA. This role focuses on land development for a diverse client base, including K-12 and higher education, commercial, restaurant, office, municipal, park district, historic preservation and infrastructure improvement projects across the United States.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Apply civil engineering principles, methods, and techniques to land development projects, including drainage, stormwater systems, water systems, sanitary sewer systems, parking, and roadways.
    • Utilize Civil 3D to prepare exhibits and construction documents.
    • Use stormwater management and storm sewer software for design and permitting.
    • Review regulations and standards for project design and permitting.
    • Analyze reports, maps, drawings, and geological data for project planning and design.
    • Make independent decisions on engineering problems and methods.
    • Ensure accuracy and quality of engineering design, reports, and plans, adhering to budgets, schedules, and client standards.
    • Perform site investigations and construction observation.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
    • Willingness to collaborate with cross-functional project teams.
    • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and code requirements.
    • Ability to lead and mentor junior engineers.
    • Ability to handle unforeseen challenges and make sound engineering decisions.
    • Ability to produce technical reports, drawings, and documentation.
    • Proficiency with Civil 3D and other design tools.
    • Exceptional communication skills.

    Preferred Skills:

    • Ability to manage project schedules, budgets, and resources.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and manage relationships.
    • Ability to assist with project estimation and scheduling.
    • EIT certification
    • Fieldwork experience and familiarity with construction sites.
    • Familiarity with surveying and data collection.
