Here's what you'll need to bring to the table:
- License: Possess a current Tennessee Registered Land Surveyor (RLS) license.
- Experience: 5+ years of demonstrated expertise in land surveying, subdivision mapping, topographic mapping, and writing legal descriptions.
- Software Proficiency: Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D software applications, and proficiency in the operation of Carlson Survey and GPS Equipment.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Work Ethic: Proven ability to multitask, prioritize workflow effectively, and complete tasks efficiently, adhering to a regular schedule of 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM Monday-Thursday and 7:30 AM - 11:30 AM Friday.
- Interpersonal Skills: Highly client service-oriented, a proactive self-starter, and a collaborative team player.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Time Management: Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Physical Capability: Ability to work in varied outdoor environments, potentially encountering wildlife, enduring various temperatures, navigating diverse terrains (including hills and long distances), standing for extended periods, and lifting/carrying up to 75lbs.
In this pivotal role, you will:
- Manage and coordinate land surveys and investigations, producing essential documents like Topographic Maps, Boundary Adjustments, Subdivision Maps, Records of Survey, and Legal Descriptions.
- Ensure meticulous compliance with all relevant regulations and requirements, including complex boundary calculations and legal ownership matters.
- Drive projects to successful completion, ensuring they are on time and within budget.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the engineering team, providing expert guidance on projects, tasks, and operational matters.
- Leverage your deep understanding of standard land surveying concepts, practices, and procedures to plan and execute goals with professionalism.
- Undertake a diverse range of intricate tasks related to boundary and topographic surveying and mapping.
- Exercise creativity and independent judgment in your approach to challenges.
- Lead and mentor field survey crews and survey technicians, fostering a high-performing team environment.
