Serve as contact and direct ORC interactions with law enforcement, retail asset protection (AP) ORC investigators and applicable departments. Partner with departments to create ORC awareness material for store management and associates. Demonstrate the companys core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety. -Essential Job Functions: -Initiate, conduct and resolve complex organized retail theft/fraud investigations -Conduct ORC prevention and awareness training for internal and external customers -Follow up on store manager/asset protection specialist shoplift incident reports by recovering video evidence from stores and compiling affidavits for criminal prosecution -Prepare case reports for local, state and federal law enforcement agencies -Routinely testify in civil and criminal proceedings on behalf of the company -Analyze business reports, investigative reports, contracted security reports and partner with district AP managers to effectively re-deploy asset protection specialists -Conduct interviews of known suspects to collect information and report findings to appropriate stakeholders -Build and maintain on-going partnerships with law enforcement, public officials and members of the area business community, including partnership with industry ORC investigative teams -Assist law enforcement during the execution of search warrants, including identification, inventory and recovery of stolen merchandise -Prepare updates for stores regarding trends being experienced in the division and losses attributed to organized retail crime -Conduct surveillance of known suspects in conjunction with law enforcement and retail ORC investigator partners -Travel to locations throughout the division and maintain availability after hours and on weekends -Physical demands include, but are not limited to, lifting 30 lbs. -Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation -Minimum Position Qualifications/Certification: -3 years law enforcement or retail asset protection investigative experience -Previous experience conducting stationary and mobile surveillance operations -Thorough knowledge of state penal codes, evidence codes, civil codes and procedures -Demonstrated ability to conduct criminal investigations, apply interview and interrogation skills, gather evidence and write reports for presentation to law enforcement -History of successfully managing volatile situations and ability to interact with all levels of the public -Proven ability to testify in criminal proceedings and maintain confidentiality -Strong leadership skills and motivated self-starter -Proven ability to simultaneously manage several ongoing in-depth investigations -Demonstrate sound judgment and independent decision making skills -Success facilitating large group presentations and training -Working knowledge of current close circuit television (CCTV) systems, portable video equipment and surveillance devices -Familiarity with background, asset and property searches at the local, state and national level -History operating in a task force environment -Wicklander certified -Excellent communication skills -Desired Previous Job Experience/Education: -Associate degree -Experience using organized retail crime investigative techniques Education Level:Associates Desired Required Travel:Up to 25% Required Certifications/Licenses:None Position Type:Full-Time Regions:West Jobs at Ralphs:At Ralphs, our people make us who we are.
