    HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER

     

    Oberto Snacks Inc., known for our high quality, delicious meat snacks is currently hiring for a Human Resources Manager. 

     

    The human resources management position is responsible for leading the plant in the effective delivery of Human Resources management and programs. Responsibilities include overseeing staffing, talent and performance management, employee relations, labor strategy, job specific and developmental training, compensation management, human resources systems, and HR related legal compliance. This position strategically partners with Operations, Quality, Maintenance and Distribution to position the plant for success and continuous improvement.

     

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provides leadership and management for the plant Human Resources team and function, supervising one or more direct reports. Develops and administers human resources plans, processes, and procedures for plant employees.
    • In conjunction with the company-wide Human Resources team, develops and administers Company HR programs, policies, procedures, and practices.
    • Develops plant HR goals and objectives that align with and support the plant’s strategic goals.
    • As part of the leadership team, plans and implements organizational changes with a focus on ensuring accepted and effective employee communications.
    • Develops strategies to promote positive employee relations. Establishes and implements employee programs and promotes a climate of trust, cooperation, and confidence.
    • Provides coaching, mentoring, and consulting services to managers and employees.
    • Maintains job descriptions to support recruitment, compensation, performance management and other HR functions.
    • Ensures plant compensation programs are competitive: evaluates and analyzes market pay data, develops annual wage recommendations, and communicates compensation updates to managers and employees. With operations managers, facilitates updates to Pay for Skills compensation plans.
    • Manages the performance review process. Coaches managers in performance management, reviewing performance, communicating performance expectations, and addressing performance issues.
    • Manages Company benefit programs for the plant, ensuring employees understand and access their benefit options.
    • Manages recognition and reward programs for plant employees. Coordinates annual and special recognition and celebration events. Manages service award program.
    • Develops, establishes, and delivers training and development programs for managers and the general employee population. Provides managers with training to ensure compliance with fair employment labor laws and regulations.
    • Establishes and maintains accurate employment records that fulfill legal, corporate and general business requirements. Ensures the workplace is compliant with government regulations.
    • Provides project leadership on select manufacturing work teams.
    • Supports the plant’s safety and risk management programs.
    • Manages the plant’s workers’ compensation program.
    • Generates management reports from HRIS system and completes analysis
    • Attend functional department team meetings
    • Participates in annual HR planning
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.
    • Back Up:  The HR Director is the back up for the HR Manager.

     QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or related field required.
    • PHR/SPHR Certification strongly preferred
    • Minimum 5 years previous Human Resources Generalist experience.
    • Experience supporting a manufacturing environment preferred
    • Must have working knowledge of Human Resources business standards, practices, policies, procedures and state and federal laws and regulations including but not limited to, Benefits, FMLA, COBRA, FLSA, ADA, ERISA, HIPPA, Workers’ Compensation and 401(k) plans. HR Generalist level.
    • Microsoft Office computer software applications at a medium to expert user level.
    • Well-developed writing skills.
    • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.  Second language a plus.
    • Strong natural leadership skills.
    • Demonstrates high standards and quality in all endeavors; solid work ethic.
    • Excellent problem solving and decision making skills.
    • Ability to communicate concepts and give clear direction across all levels of company.
    • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to get along with/manage diverse personalities/workforce.
    • Team player.
    • Open minded with ability to balance business with personnel needs.
    • Ability to adapt to a changing environment.
    • Proactive, hands on approach to problem solving.
    • Sense of humor; supports “have fun” atmosphere when appropriate.
    • High personal and professional integrity and honest.

    • Hours may vary due to providing 24/7 shift support, but typically M-F, 45-55 hours per week with occasional weekend remote support and possible off shift support
