    Job Description

    As Proofreader Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring proper style, grammar, word choice, correct spelling, and punctuation. You will also be responsible for identifying design discrepancies across all executions of GNC product packaging. There is a need for 100% accuracy in this area to protect supply chain integrity, maintain GNC brand equity, and mitigate potential liabilities. Additional responsibilities will be to support identified tasks within the overall packaging development process of new and existing, consumer-facing GNC branded products. This position will assist with end-to-end packaging tasks, reviews, and management of project tasks through final approval. The role will interact with cross-functional teams to ensure correct execution is met and provide updates regarding timing and delivery.

    REQUIRED SKILLS:

    • Excellent spelling, grammar, proofreading and communication skills are required to thoroughly review content for accuracy of art rounds for labels/cartons/inserts
    • Ability to identify and uphold stylistic standards with the skill to properly communicate inconsistencies for revision and improvement within projects and maintain a style guide as reference among team members
    • Proficiency in production proofing for content errors or omissions as well as design consistency
    • Expert proficiency of office technology and software, including Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office applications
    • Excellent organizational skills, and strong attention to detail
    • The ability to juggle several projects, prioritize and consistently meet tight deadlines, and demonstrate commitment to completing tasks and assignments on a timely basis

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Work closely with packaging team and support identified tasks in accordance with procedures and standards.
    • Organize & assist art review process and while maintaining project timelines
    • Communicate and review necessary corrections with project team
    • Maintain and organize files relevant to individual projects
    • Assist with end-to-end project tasks as it relates to packaging production operations
    • Meet goals and objectives as defined in each packaging project including redesign and lifecycle maintenance
    • Administrate package development tasks to assure completion in most efficient and timely manner while prioritizing packaging requests across concurrent projects ensuring they are in line with business priorities and strategic objectives.
    • Manage cross-functional label reviews while partnering with key contributing internal and external stakeholders regarding their key functional areas, gather and report corrections, develop agreeable solutions and implement requirements.
    • Ensure timely and accurate development of label files (marketing copy, claims, directions for use, supplement/nutrition panels, creative design aspects, label templates and production files) thoroughly review and confirm requested revisions have been made
    • Assist in identifying new and improved processes creating efficiencies and effective harmonization for new or existing products
    • Conduct regular review and auditing of GNC packaged products to ensure standards are being upheld. Address and resolve repetitive issues
    • Additional duties as assigned

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Responsible for supervising assigned project status

    PHYSICAL ASPECTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    • Hybrid work environment, 2-3 days in-person attendance is required (Pittsburgh, PA) in addition to ability to work remotely.

    • Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands or fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear

    • Regularly/Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include long periods of computer screen usage, close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

    • Ability to communicate written and verbally in a professional manner with all organizational levels and external contacts

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Journalism/English-centered or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key accountabilities of the job required
    • 3-5 years of relevant experience with additional project management experience preferred
    • Proficient with MS Office Suite, Teams, Outlook & Internet applications
    • Experience in Workfront or equivalent Project Management/Trafficking Tool strongly preferred
    • Strong analytical, prioritization, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, project management & planning skills
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning)
    • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as internal and external clients
    • Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management
    • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
    • Ability to adapt and manage through change
    • Self-motivation with critical attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting
