Loss Prevention Specialist The Save Mart Companies 490 reviews - San Jose, CA The Loss Prevention Specialist implements, monitors, and trains employees on company Loss Prevention initiatives. This position will work closely with store and corporate management in identifying, trending, and improving safety injuries and losses. The Loss Prevention Specialist will provide administrative and program support to the Senior Director, Loss Prevention & Safety in all areas of Loss Prevention. Tools and equipment used by this position include, but are not limited to the following: camera equipment, personal vehicles, computers, hand tools and general office supplies. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities: * Plan, organize and coordinate training, education, and presentation on loss prevention and safety processes, policies and programs * Monitor data used to identify heightened risks and helps develop loss and safety recommendations * Communicate with employees and management on a regular basis regarding loss prevention and safety * Develop and update total loss and safety procedures, references and materials * Contribute to the investigation and retrieval of defense evidence * Maintain and updates library of safety training, videos, and correspondence as it relates to defense evidence * Compile data and information as it relates to the claims processes and mitigation * Interview and/or correspond with claimants, agents, witnesses, physicians, or other relevant parties to correct errors or omissions, investigate questionable claims, * Update and correct records as needed; extracts data to create reports for HR/Legal Leadership data analysis * Counsel/work with employees and locations with high claims rates to evaluate in-store safety program administration * Assist with identifying company risks and ensuring compliance with evolving regulations * Review processes and procedures on an ongoing basis to promote consistency of output and quality * Provide program and administrative support to Senior Director Loss Prevention and Safety * Stay current in industry trends, changes to regulations * Perform other duties as assigned Location: Salias/San Jose , CA Requirements (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities): * Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) * Excellent organizational skills * Strong problem-solving skills * Strong fact-finding skills * Strong problem-solving skills * Strong presentation skills * Advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint , and Word * Knowledge of California and Nevada Workers Compensation rules and time tables * Understanding of ADA process and implications under Workers Compensation * Working knowledge of Job Task Analysis (JTA) software as it applies to developing JTAs and using tool to assess employees for Workers Compensation return to work Education: Two-year college degree (or equivalent knowledge gained through formal education, specialized training, or additional job experience) Experience: Three years of related experience Other: Occasional travel required Physical: Basic office and store environment: ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, stoop, use stairs, reach, pull and lift objects Competencies: * Customer Focus * Quality/Quantity of Work * Personal/Interpersonal Skills We are looking for food enthusiasts passionate about practical yet innovative solutions to support our California rooted organization.
