Forward Sourcing Analyst Role Summary: The Forward Sourcing Specialist is responsible for the timely procurement of new parts for new or existing vehicle projects in collaboration with the production buyers. He/she carries out the request for quote to suppliers and is the central point of contact for all business units until the parts are handed over to the project buyer after nomination. Role Responsibilities:General: * Assure process consistency with VWGoA and relevant Group requirements * Representation of Purchasing in internal meetings, presentations and Corporate Sourcing Committee (CSC) * Timely and accurate maintenance of Purchasing systems and databases (STAR, TEVON, etc.) * Resolution of Purchasing-related problems with other functions within VWGoA and VW Group companies, thorough purchasing processes and procedures * Performs other Purchasing tasks as required Commercial: * Organize Kick Off meetings with all business units to gather information needed for sourcing process * Clarify critical issues, reach timeline agreements and set up request for quotes in Purchasing system * Follow up on supplier requests with internal departments throughout the bidding process * Review supplier offers, cost breakdowns, and ensure compliance with VW Terms & Conditions * Support production buyers throughout negotiations and during CSC presentations * Collect and ensure completeness of supplier deliverables for internal customers * Create supplier nomination agreement after the sourcing process is completed Project Management: * Reporting of commercial and nomination status to Project Steering and Management * Regular interfacing with Purchasing colleagues in Wolfsburg, Chattanooga and Puebla * Proactive identification and resolution of problems related to assigned parts * Evaluation, preparation and presentation of various business case scenarios Agreement, communication and tracking of deliverables from internal customers (R&D, Finance, K-BS) * 3 - 5 years of experience in automotive industry or related field * Experience with manufacturing processes, tools and technologies * Experience analyzing cost breakdowns, cost drivers, supplier offers * Ability to work independently with minimal guidance * Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, MS Outlook, and Excel * Ability to manage multiple and changing priorities and realign priorities to meet overall objectives * Effective communication with internal customers and with outside vendors/suppliers * Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills * Experience with long-range, time-critical projects * Manages moderately complex work packages * Assists in the training of new employees LI-RA1 **Primary Location: **United States-Tennessee-Chattanooga **Work Locations: ** **Organization: **Volkswagen Group of America Inc.
