thing. **** ******** ** ** Role Summary The Project Purchasing
Specialist is responsible for the implementation and reporting of
his/her parts packages starting from the handover of the nominated
supplier until three months after the start of production (SOP), within
the defined cost, invest, and timing targets defined by management. The
Project Buyer plays a central role in bringing new vehicle projects from
concept into production. The Project Buyer works internally with the
Commodity Purchasing colleagues, and across the Volkswagen organization
with R&D, Quality Assurance, Logistics, Manufacturing, as well as
international locations and management groups collaborating on global
projects. Collaboration with the Forward Sourcing team to ensure
familiarity with parts being sourced and supplier strategies. Commercial
and timing responsibility for assigned parts and suppliers between
nomination and start of vehicle production (SOP). Negotiation of
technical changes with supplier, including tooling cost, piece price and
timing, to meet commercial and delivery objectives. Managing and
reporting timing for part development and off-tool sample delivery in
support of pre-series builds. Anticipation and resolution of issues that
can jeopardize a flawless launch. Monitoring and reporting of tooling
and supplier manufacturing site readiness to ensure a suppliers
capability to meet the pre-series build events and SOP. Maintenance of
purchase orders, timing and part history using VW-internal systems.
The ideal candidate is a hybrid of technician, negotiator, program
manager and problem solver. ** ** Role Responsibilities General:
- Assure process consistency with VWGoA and relevant K-BN Group
requirements * Representation of Purchasing in internal meetings,
presentations and Pilot Halls * Conclude commercial negotiations with
suppliers from hand off through SOP +3 * Timely and accurate maintenance
of Purchasing systems and databases (TEVON, EBON etc.) * Resolution of
Purchasing-related problems with other functions within VWGoA and VW
Group companies, thorough purchasing processes and procedures * Performs
other Purchasing tasks as required Commercial: * Tracking and reporting
of each assigned parts cost history until SOP+3 (piece price, invest,
LTCs) * Negotiate, present and implement engineering changes (AEKO,
KV-AEKO) for piece price and invest * Timely and Accurate issuance of
Purchasing contracts, amendments, and kickoffs * Representation of
assigned parts in the AEKO-Runde Project Management: * Reporting of
parts status during all milestones of the PEP process * Regular
interfacing with Purchasing colleagues in Wolfsburg, Chattanooga, and
Puebla * Proactive identification and resolution of problems related to
assigned parts / suppliers * Evaluation, preparation and presentation of
various business case scenarios * Agreement, communication, and tracking
of deliverables from internal customers (R&D, Finance, K-BS) #LI-RA1
Required * 3 5 years of experience in automotive industry or related
field * Experience with manufacturing processes, tools and technologies
- Experience analyzing cost breakdowns, cost drivers, supplier offers *
Demonstrated negotiating experience: piece price, tooling and timing
with external suppliers for assigned packages * Ability to work
independently without direct supervision * Proficiency in MS Word,
PowerPoint,MS Outlook, and Excel * Ability to manage multiple and
changing priorities in a high-pressure environment * Effective
communication with internal customers and with outside vendors/suppliers
