Junior Developer
- Responsibilities
We’re hiring both Associate Developer and Developer Interns. They do the same things, just are more / less experienced. We're a great company to work for - we score 12/12 on Joel's Test for Software Jobs.
You write code to implement features on our web app. Also, to fix bugs, because that’s life. Part of this is talking to our product manager to understand what they’re looking for, and occasionally answering some user questions.
- Qualifications
Our application is written in Ruby using Ruby on Rails. We use PostgreSQL for our database. Our Javascript uses jQuery. We use some custom bootstrap themes for our design.
You don’t need to know Ruby at all, as long as you don’t mind learning it. Some experience with JavaScript is a big plus, but certainly isn’t required.

- CompensationPay depends on your experience. All of our employees are paid. We don’t do unpaid internships. If you have no experience at all - say a freshman in a CS program - but are a real go getter, we can pay around $10/hr. If you’re more experienced, that could go as high as $30/hr, or equivalent salary. You will be eligible for an equity grant - part ownership of the company - of up to 2%, depending on pay and experience. We offer health benefits and 401(k) retirement plans
