Institutional Business Development & Marketing Fall Internship
We are a venture-backed off-grid communications technology startup based in Brooklyn that is looking for an intern to assist in the early stage development of our upcoming institutional business efforts.
Today our technology is primarily aimed at consumers who are using our products to keep in touch with each other during recreation activities such as hiking, skiing, travel abroad, and so forth. However coming soon we will be focusing on expanding into the institutional space with new product lines being launched at the end of this year. This includes industrial, public safety, military, and other such organizations which need to rely on secure mobile communications systems anywhere in the world.
In this role you would directly report to the co-Founder. Your responsibilities would be focused on intensive online research of business contacts, regulatory filings, participation in trade shows, and assisting in general logistics and tasks as assigned on an ad-hoc basis.
A candidate that would excel in this role would be someone who is extremely adept with online research, and is creative enough to go several levels deeper than just a simple Google search when looking for information.
Many of the tasks assigned will be high level, with some starting guidance, but you would be expected to be able to execute the majority of your research independently.
This is a role that will ask you to find information that may not be easily accessible, so you'll have to think outside the box to complete your tasks.
What we require:
Ninja online research skills, there's nothing you can't figure out with the internet available to you.
Extremely well organized, you'll be given a lot of independence but are expected to deliver high quality work on time
Creative problem solving
Curiosity to learn about things you may have never experienced before.
Adept with excel and powerpoint (or equivalent GDocs or Apple products)
Willing to go the extra mile and work the occasional extra hours to get things done
Ability to travel from time to time in support of the team
Strong verbal/reading skills, at times you'll have to review and understand some heavy technical and legal documentation to fully complete your tasks
Nice-to-haves:
Any previous experience in the military, public safety, or other government service
Any previous sales/business development experience
Personal interest in military, public safety, or other such institutional operations
Previous experience in a research intensive role
This is a paid full-time 3-month internship role that is available to start immediately. The opportunity for a full-time role exists for high performers at the end of the internship period.
