    Job Description

    As part of Operational Experience IS Portfolio, the Order Management group is responsible for developing core business applications that enable relentless management of customer order data to achieve superior supply chain execution leading to positive results for Expeditors and our customers. These systems enable our world-wide network to deliver a supply chain execution model in sync with our customers' order processes and network design. The basis of the service is to receive customer orders electronically and then manage and report upon the milestones presented on the orders. Integration in our global operating system of our customer's order details with the shipment is standard. By utilizing Order Management Services, customers recognize tailored supply chain solutions regardless of sourcing location.

    The Architect is responsible for driving shared architectural initiatives within the Operational Experience Portfolio in order to deliver business outcomes. The Architect is responsible to provide architectural and engineering clarity in support of business needs and systems operating environment. The Architect provides guidance and is responsible for aligning the technical work of the team, aligned with the enterprise strategic direction related to development and delivery of technology stacks, interoperability, APIs, and deployment strategies.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Collaborating with the OXP and Enterprise architects to contribute to, understand and support the strategic technical direction of the enterprise
    • Defining key technical initiatives that support Lean Budgets via Enabler Epics
    • Helping the OXP value streams adhere to the budget guardrails for retiring solutions
    • Leading the OXP strategy for building and maintaining the architectural runway for shared components
    • Understanding and communicating Strategic Themes, and other key business drivers for architecture, to technical and nontechnical stakeholders within the OXP group.
    • Driving architectural initiatives in the OXP Portfolio Kanban system and participating in epic analysis where applicable
    • Influencing common modeling, design, and coding practices
    • Promoting Continuous Delivery Pipeline and DevSecOps capabilities
    • Collecting, generating and analyzing innovative ideas and technologies to use across the business
    • Facilitating the reuse of code, components, and proven patterns
    • Synchronizing the following disciplines across solutions whenever applicable: System and data security, quality production infrastructure, user experience (Lean UX), scalability, performance, and other Nonfunctional Requirements (NFRs)
    • Coach developers and identify training opportunities
    • Prepare, manage, and coordinate breakdown of Enablers into ART or Team Enablers
    • Understand the Architecture of all systems and address conflicting or divergent approaches
    • Create and implement strategies for technology adoption across the OXP Portfolio
    • Support engagement among portfolios with Solution and ARTs/Teams

    This position is on-site and will reside in the greater Seattle, WA. area at one of the following locations depending on availability. Candidates must be local or willing to relocate. Relocation assistance is not offered for this position.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Personal and professional alignment with Expeditors culture and ten critical success factors
    • Proven experience as a technology leader
    • Strong leadership, communication, and execution capabilities
    • Experienced problem solver, strong collaborator and able to provide clarity around complex topics
    • Experience with cloud native architecture and applications - Azure preferred but not required
    • Experience designing and operating distributed microservice systems at scale
    • Experience with big data strategies and system design
    • Experience with DevSecOps
    • Action and outcome driven leadership
    • Ability to actively inspire, coach, mentor and motivate
    • Ability to promote autonomy, mastery and purpose, through empowerment and creating leaders
    • BA/BS Computer Science, MIS, or related degree preferred
    • Experience in a technical role such as systems/data/business analysis, project management, or software development (5 year minimum)

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Experience with Lean, Agile and the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
    • Global logistics/Supply chain business knowledge preferred

    Additional Information

    Expected base salary: $165,000 to $240,000
