Job Description
The drayage agent is responsible for tactical execution of all import drayage related operations within a district. The district’s Container Drayage Management (CDM) program includes working across all products to support deliveries/appointments/empty returns of import containers. Collaboration with customers, ocean agents, and service providers is another key area of responsibility. As a drayage agent, customer service to both internal and external customers, must be of the highest quality.
Import Container Drayage – Outgate/Delivery/empty return
- Support the final leg of import containers when Expeditors is responsible for delivery.
- Proactively communicates with service providers, customers, and product.
- Create delivery orders and dispatch to service providers in a timely fashion.
- Using workflow, monitor outgoing delivery orders, receipt, and acceptance.
- Using workflow, monitor arrivals, issue pick up numbers, and enter TNF event.
- Using workflow, monitor out gate, dwell time at the rail, clear rail storage as needed and upload documentation.
- Using workflow, monitor/manage appointment deliveries, delivery, proof of delivery, and empty returns.
- Exception management and resolve issues quickly.
- Assist in developing new strategies for maintaining or improving quality-of-service.
- Focus on increasing profit and minimizing costs.
