    JOB SUMMARY:

     

    The Corporate Relations Manager is part of the CSIS team that leads efforts to strengthen financial support from corporations to advance the Center’s institutional goals and objectives. The Corporate Relations Manager is a front-line fundraiser who works closely with current corporate supporters as well as prospective ones. The Corporate Relations Manager works in close coordination with a team of fundraising professionals who support the CSIS programs by creating strong cases for support to fund individual projects and initiatives.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    Donor Relations:

    • Manages a portfolio of current and prospective corporate members at the $35,000 - $750,000 level, seeking guidance from Chief Development Officer and other leaders as appropriate • Works with Chief Development Officer to establish membership and sponsorship goals and monitor progress towards those goals • Leads efforts to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward corporate donors within portfolio • Covers vertical corporate industries and sectors, and anticipates the needs each of these sectors may have regarding CSIS activities and events • Executes donor recognition and fulfillment for complete portfolio • Schedules virtual and in-person briefings and partner meetings between donors and CSIS program staff • Oversees the processing and acknowledgement of all gifts and grant agreements in portfolio • Conducts virtual and in-person visits with donors and prospective donors in portfolio and coordinates donor’s engagement with CSIS; develops strategies, as appropriate, for other staff members and volunteers • Supports the creation of corporate proposals for donors within portfolio • Oversees the maintenance and updating of all primary and secondary contacts and relationships in database • Oversees all moves management, reporting, and stewardship activities as related to assigned donors and prospects • Partners with Program Liaisons to identify new funding streams for programs based on expressed donor interest, conducting proper relationship building and transition as needed • Contributes skills set and strategic thinking to other funding pipelines, including Executive Education and program/project support

     

    General/Events:

     

    • Works with the senior development staff to set fundraising and donor development goals • Assists in the recognition and prioritization of organizational funding needs; keeps abreast of institutional and departmental priorities and programs • Collaborates with the senior development staff to develop strategies for cultivation events and other events for donors and prospects in assigned portfolio • Attends live and virtual events attended by partners and prospects • Attends select in-person and virtual education events of interest to partners • Other duties as assigned

    KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE:

     

    • Bachelor’s degree • A minimum of 2-3 yrs. experience in fundraising, preferably with a focus on corporate and/or individual donors, or similar work in the private sector • SalesForce database experience preferred • Must possess a professional demeanor in his/her approach and appearance • Interest in global development, international relations, and policy-related research; ability to remain up to date on the research agendas of CSIS programs • Excellent interpersonal skills; strong writing skills • The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment • Knowledge of and experience in using research resources for prospects and funding opportunities • Ability to travel on occasion

  • Qualifications

    REQUIRED SKILLS:

    • Documented skills in developing engineering project plans, progress reports and results reports.
    • Ability to develop netcentric implementation documents and recommendations for the DISA Gateways.
    • Experience in developing DoDAF Systems Engineering views and network diagrams for the Gateways.
    • Documented experiences in assessing and developing NETOPS CONOPS feedback.
    • Ability to develop DoDIN concepts and system designs for the Gateways.
    • Experience in calculating existing and future cost analyses concerning the DISA Gateways.

     

    DESIRED SKILLS: Broad knowledge and expertise with DoD network and enclave architecture and operations and associated functional standards/requirements.
