    Job Description

    We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Legal Intern for Summer 2025 to assist __ with a key project aimed at organizing and cataloging a variety of contracts and legal documentation, including nondisclosure agreements (NDAs). This position will involve collecting, transferring, and storing legal documents in central repositories, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency throughout the process. The ideal candidate will gain hands-on experience in legal operations and document management within a dynamic, professional environment.

    Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

    • Document Collection : Assist in collecting various contracts, agreements, and legal documents (including NDAs) from different departments or sources.
    • Cataloging and Organization : Review and categorize contracts and legal documents, ensuring each file is correctly identified and indexed for future retrieval.
    • Digital Transfer : Support the digital transfer of contracts and legal documentation to a central, secure storage system or repository.
    • Compliance and Quality Control : Ensure all collected documents meet legal, regulatory, and organizational standards for storage and retrieval.
    • Data Entry and Record-Keeping : Maintain accurate records of all contracts and legal documents transferred to the central repository.
    • Collaboration : Work closely with the legal team, contract managers, and other departments to ensure that all relevant documents are accounted for.
    • Documentation Review : Help review and summarize the contents of legal documents where necessary to facilitate proper cataloging and storage.
    • Confidentiality : Ensure that all documents are handled with the highest level of confidentiality, complying with internal policies and legal requirements.
    • Projects : Other opportunities to work on substantive legal and contracts-related projects are expected
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Education: Bachelor’s degree and currently pursuing a Law degree (J.D. or equivalent) or related field required. Successful completion of basic (1L) contracts coursework is preferred.

    Experience: No paid work experience is required for this position, however, prefer experience with:

    • Legal document management or administrative roles.
    • Familiarity with contract law and legal terminology.
    • Knowledge of electronic document storage systems (e.g., SharePoint, iManage, etc.).

    Knowledge skills/other attributes:

    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.), and familiarity with document management systems is a plus.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information responsibly.
    • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
    • A collaborative and proactive attitude with the ability to take initiative.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • US Citizen preferred; ability to pass a background check and security vetting required

    The compensation for this position ranges from $15.00 - $35.00/hr and will vary depending on factors including level of school completed and type of position requirements for skills, whether technical or non-technical.
