    Reporting to the Vice President, Financial Planning & Analysis, the Senior Director, Corporate Finance is responsible for leading all finance activities to drive Operational and Strategic decisions key to Akebia’s success. This individual will work with teams across the organization to identify and assess risks and opportunities that will impact Akebia’s Operating Plan.

    • Lead the team responsible for all Corporate Finance activities
    • Lead regular Financial Forecasting processes to provide key updates to the CFO/CBO & Executive team
    • Lead Long-Range Planning Process to drive the company’s strategy
    • Provide analytical support to the Business/Corporate Development & Alliance Management teams; partner with teams to drive process to assess BD/M&A transactions
    • Assess financing transactions by leading internal analysis and making recommendations to the CBO/CFO & CEO
    • Support Investor Relations, including evaluating analyst models & providing recommendations to CFO/CBO and IR team to inform external messaging based analyst consensus
    • Partner with the CCO & Commercial teams to refine revenue projections for Auryxia & Vafseo and assess the impact on the Operating Plan
    • Present key financial updates to the Board of Directors, as necessary
    • Drive and enhance both near and long-term cash forecasting
    • Lead the annual Budget process by partnering with the entire FP&A team to ensure broad cross-functional alignment
    • Oversee administration of Enterprise Performance Management system
    • Partner with Accounting, Tax, & Treasury teams to provide necessary forecasts, reporting, and drive valuation processes required for SEC purposes
    • Support Quarterly and Annual financial filing & SEC reporting processes, as necessary
    • Provide ad hoc support to the CFO/CBO and Executive Leadership Team to inform financial and strategic decisions

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree required
    • 12+ years’ experience in Finance; Pharmaceutical/Biotech Industry experience required
    • Experience in Corporate Finance, including leading the Budget, Forecast and Long-Range Plan processes
    • Deep understanding of financial statements and valuation
    • Deep understanding of the drug development & commercialization process

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
    • Strong written & verbal communication skills, including with Executive Leadership
    • Background in corporate finance and strategy
    • Willing and able to contribute across a variety of areas as business needs evolve
    • Thrives in fast-paced, dynamic environment
    • Experience with NetSuite and Adaptive Planning

    Compensation:

    Targeted Base: $224,336 - $277,121*

    *Base Compensation for this role will depend on a number of factors including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience, and may fall outside of the range shown. Base pay is only one component of the company’s total rewards package, all regular employees are also eligible for the corporate bonus program or the incentive compensation program (if applicable), as well as equity. Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, etc.
