    Job Description

    As part of the Operational Experience IS Portfolio, the Ground Network Service (GNS) & Transcon teams are responsible for migrating user functionality from our Legacy systems to our Exp.o system platform.

    The software configuration engineering team uses a Transportation Management System where the transportation problem space has been abstracted into an interconnected and highly configurable collection of frameworks. The configuration team follows an SDLC to design and implement logic that controls the behavior of a complex system to meet the required functional behaviors of the business. This role involves business knowledge, systems knowledge, process analysis, systems analysis, and a software development mindset. It also involves participating in the design, hands-on implementation, and support of enterprise-scale software. This role requires strong transportation domain knowledge and the ability to translate business concepts to the technical implementation.

    The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter having sound judgment, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across teams and disciplines. They will also have experience in systems analysis. They communicate effectively with a broad range of audiences with an emphasis on customer service and teamwork. They have a strong attention to detail and quality while executing with a sense of urgency. They seek out new business and technical knowledge, are adaptable to change, and are comfortable working with ambiguity.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop a deep understanding of the exp.o GNS and Transcon Framework
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs and functional requirements into easily understandable technical requirements and effectively communicate those to various technical and non-technical audiences
    • Actively participate in discussions with agile team(s) regarding the proper scope and features for each release
    • Understand and document process flows using state diagrams and implement the process flows via configuration
    • Design and implement efficient solutions consistent with the overall implementation
    • Collaborate with team members to ensure data and functional integrity across projects and systems within the larger Expeditors ecosystem
    • Participate in feedback loops, demonstrations, and trainings with users to guide improvements and enhancements to the system implementation and the user experience
    • Develop a deep understanding of SDLC processes and tools used for configuration
    • Participate in the definition, refinement, and documentation of configuration best practices
    • Actively collaborate with others in the configuration discipline to seek out learning, share solution designs, and to stay connected to the overall solution

    This position is on-site and will reside in the greater Seattle, WA. area at one of the following locations depending on availability. Candidates must be local or willing to relocate. Relocation assistance is not offered for this position.

    Qualifications

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Technical aptitude with a strong understanding of business and functional requirements, as input to enterprise-scale software configuration
    • Analytical mindset with high attention to detail and ability to work across multiple priorities
    • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively (written and verbal), to internal and external customers
    • Experience with business and technical requirements gathering, process mapping, and gap analysis
    • Experience with systems and process documentation, modeling, and flow charting
    • Experience in systems analysis or business analysis
    • Fundamental understanding of our business with the ability to understand the broader consequences of decisions
    • Effective at navigating ambiguity and helping diverse teams drive toward clarity and consensus
    • Expeditors systems knowledge of ETMS and operational processes knowledge of GNS or Transcon, or comparable operational knowledge in another Expeditors area.
    • Ability to provide exceptional customer service, research and resolve issues, and demonstrated commitment to continuous learning
    • Experience with a Transportation Management System or enterprise-scale supply chain software
    • Experience configuring business process in an ERP solution
    • Results oriented, willingness to commit to a direction and drive to completion
    • Experience working with software development teams and processes

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • BS/BA in Business or Information Systems (or similar) or comparable work experience
    • Experience in and understanding of a transportation operations role
    • Customer-facing background
    • Demonstrated leadership, analytical, organization, and interpersonal skills
    • Working knowledge of XML, XSLT, transactional and data integration, Azure DevOps
    • SAFe familiarity and/or certification

    Additional Information

    Expected base salary: $85,000 to $135,000
