    Job Summary

    The Senior Manager **, Corporate FP &A **is responsible for supporting all corporate finance strategic planning activities including Long Range planning, Annual Budget and Monthly Ops to drive decision making key to Akebia’s strategy and success. In addition, this role will support financial modeling in support of Business Development. This individual will report to the Sr. Director, Corporate FP&A

    Essential Functions & Duties

    Drive all corporate finance planning activities including monthly forecast, annual budget and Long-Range Plan

    Lead key components of the Long-Range Plan and other strategy assessments, including ownership of a robust LRP model, assumptions alignment, and financial analysis

    Run Monthly Operations process, working cross-functionally to provide key business updates and financial forecasts for presentation to senior leadership

    Support annual Budget process to ensure alignment across all areas of the business and enable valuable key Budget discussions at the ELT and board of directors

    Own administration of financial planning system (Adaptive)

    Partner cross-functionally to leverage forecast and LRP in support of Accounting, Tax & IR workstreams

    Develop and own revenue modeling for internal pipeline programs and BD assessments, working closely with Commercial and BD teams

    Support Investor Relations with ongoing investor analytics and targeting, consensus tracking and messaging of our financials

    Perform necessary quarterly and year end procedures in compliance with SOX controls and other accounting requirements

    Drive cross-functional improvements to enhance financial reporting, increase data transparency and drive efficiencies

    Skills & Experience

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting or finance required
    • 7+ years experience in Finance role, particularly in the Biotech industry
    • Extensive experience in financial statement analysis
    • Proven experience running with ad-hoc requests such as cash flow analysis, long term plan modeling & analysis, etc.
    • Hands on experience with financial modeling excel without supervision
    • Extensive experience with financial statement analysis
    • Demonstrated ability to meet multiple deadlines
    • Experience managing an existing ERP or Modeling Software

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
    • Attention to detail
    • Strong written & verbal communication skills including with executive leadership
    • Understanding of the drug development & commercialization process
    • Desire to work in a rapidly growing organization
    • Willing and able to contribute across a variety of areas as business needs evolve
    • Thrives in fast-paced, dynamic environment
    • Familiarity with Adaptive Workday planning system and NetSuite

    Compensation:

    Targeted Base: 154,642-$191,029*

    *Base Compensation for this role will depend on a number of factors including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience, and may fall outside of the range shown. Base pay is only one component of the company’s total rewards package, all regular employees are also eligible for the corporate bonus program or the incentive compensation program (if applicable), as well as equity. Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, etc.
