Job overview and responsibilities The United Airlines Environmental Affairs internship is designed to give enrolled students insights into environmental policy, compliance, sustainability, and environmental strategy within one of the largest airlines in the world. The internship combines a student's academic and career interests with valuable work experience in the commercial aviation environment. The Environmental Affairs intern will serve as an internal consultant, providing business analyses to management of various operating divisions on environmental challenges and opportunities facing the airline. This may include the following areas of focus: * Reporting on sustainability performance * Emissions reduction projects * Measuring Uniteds environmental impact * Identifying potential stakeholder communication and award opportunities

    • Auditing recycling and waste management procedures * Analyzing environmental policy landscape The intern will also gather and analyze information, interpret data from various sources, and consider available solutions or alternative methods of proceeding. Additionally, the Environmental Affairs intern will study organizational changes, communications, information flow, and gathering and organizing information regarding environmental problems and procedures. This is a full-time internship (40 hours per week) for three months of the fall semester at our office in downtown Chicago. Required Qualifications * A clear interest in and passion for environmental issues * Must be a current undergraduate student * Excellent written and verbal communication skills - please upload a cover letter with your submission
