Under limited supervision, work with sales, project engineering, solutions engineering, and planning to produce on time customer proposals. Work with sourcing engineer to identify best first cost and production volume pricing levels. Maintain relationships with sales and business development teams to ensure customer alignment on expectations. Maintain relationships with 3rd party solutions build partners.
Position Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage and guide the estimating team.
- Develop a departmental strategy and establish procedures for maintaining proposal consistency and on time delivery.
- Develop and maintain a playbook for the Estimating team. The playbook will include the following:
- Scope of Work Discovery process
- Development of job cost summaries
- Engaging 3rd party contractors
- Development of customer proposals
- Establish and maintain relationships with 3rd party solutions partners, evaluate potential new partners in strategic locations.
- Train current and new quoting and estimating team members.
- Establish KPI’s and goals, short and long term, for the Estimating team.
- Work in collaboration across departments to solicit feedback in effort to identify gaps and opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Perform other job functions as assigned by management.
Supervisory / Managerial Responsibilities
- Oversee daily activities and manage the performance of the estimating engineering staff.
- Adhere to supervisory/management responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws
- Perform interviews, hiring and training of employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving issues
Travel Requirements
- Up to 30% travel based on customer demand, primarily with the United States
Essential Education, Skills, and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, industrial, process or systems engineering or equivalent experience.
- Ability to apply UL/NFPA Standards to size/verify electrical components and cables.
- Computer proficiency – Knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and Access).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to communicate with and maintain effective relationships with customers, vendors and team members.
- Teamwork orientation.
Beneficial Education, Skills, and Experience
- Experience in Panel Builder preferred.
- Experience in Power Distribution preferred.
- Knowledge of NEC/NFPA79 codes a plus.
- Experience in SAP a plus.
- Working knowledge of control panel and industrial systems, PLC, VFD, HMI, SCADA, etc.
- Ability to read schematic drawings and translate to point wirings.
- Ability to operate AutoCAD/ and SolidWorks software.
- Strong background in panel build techniques.
- Monday.com, SAP Hana, Salesforce experience

The listed salary range is approximate and reflects the anticipated compensation for this position as determined by salary analysis; both internal and external to MEAU. Final compensation will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, skills and experience. Compensation may also vary due to market factors. MEAU retains the right to adjust compensation based on business needs.
Expected Salary: $115k - $135k
