To learn more about the company's mission and see the entire line of current products, visit www.bolthouse.com JOB DESCRIPTION: The Carrot Handler will inspect, sort, weigh, and package fresh carrots in a timely manner. Will be observing all safety regulations, ensuring all GMP and quality standards are met and maintain the efficient flow of product through the production process. JOB DUTIES: Will rotate through line stations every (2 hrs) or as directed Responsible to ensure that the proper packaging supplies are positioned to assigned workstation, notify Bag Attendant as needed Manually sort fresh carrots by size, consistency (1, 2, 5 lb packages) on moving conveyer, place carrots on scale and check weight Manually twist bag closed, tape shut, and place finished bag on master-packer conveyer Visually inspect carrots on conveyor and remove non-conforming product to rework tub Keep area clear, clean, and place trash/non-conforming product in proper receptacles At the end of shift, perform general housekeeping and clean-up as required Complete other related duties as assigned or directed by the supervisor REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILTIES: Read, write, and communicate as it relates to the job and the safety regulations Learn to use the equipment and tools to perform job Able to follow instructions Able to meet company performance standards for the job MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or equivalent; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Six months to one year experience in a production facility Bilingual English/Spanish PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Able to work in cold environment Material exposure-moving mechanical parts Occasionally must be able to lift up 25 pounds Must be able to stand and walk for an extended period of time HOURS & WORKDAYS: 2nd Shift, when business requires overtime and weekends will be mandatory, shift hours range from 9.5-11.5 hours/day, a typical work week includes 5-6 days, with a floating day off.
