Order Picker - 2nd Shift - Follett Warehouse
Job Description
This position is in one of our WAREHOUSE LOCATIONS and is responsible for picking products from shelves into tote pans accurately and quickly via use of an RF unit and scan gun.
THIS POSITION PAYS $14.36 PER HOUR AND IS A 2ND SHIFT POSITION (2:30PM-11:00PM).
OVERTIME IS REQUIRED AND IS BASED UPON BUSINESS DEMANDS. THIS MAY INCLUDE UP TO 9 HOURS PER DAY M-F AND AS NEEDED ON SATURDAY/SUNDAY.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (The following statements describe the general nature of work being performed in this job. They are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by management):
Operates a RF unit and scan gun.
Picks books from shelves into tote pans.
Starts and completes picks properly.
Completes destination cards for each tote.
Picks up loaded totes from pick trolley and sets on moving conveyer.
Responsible for accuracy of orders picked.
Responsible for maintaining acceptable level of productivity.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk; use hands and fingers; and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently must stand and lift/move up to 50 lbs. and occasionally must stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk; hear; and lift/move up to 25 lb. Specific vision requirements include close vision.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles and occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS
High school education or equivalent and three to twelve months experience.
Knowledge and understanding of RF units.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence and effectively present information to managers and employees of the organization.
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's and perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions and deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
