These are PART TIME positions working from 4:00/4:30 AM to 4:00/4:30 PM OR 4:00/4:30 PM to 4:00/4:30 AM. Positions can be working any combinations of two days choosing from Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday. For those choosing Sunday as one of your days, there may be weeks when we do not run on Sundays so you may work just one day that week. The Production Utility Workers are responsible for several bakery manufacturing activities. The ideal candidate must be willing and able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. One must be able to communicate and work effectively in a team environment as well as be flexible in assignments within the utility category. One must be able to follow instructions (written & verbal) safely, accurately complete assigned duties while maintaining GMP standards and participate as part of the Food Defense Team. The chosen candidate will be responsible for placing product in machines to be wrapped or place product into feeders to be boxed. This position will primarily be performing utility jobs, with the ability to break a utility positions. No previous experience required, we will train you! You will not be required to speak, read or write in English. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (not an all-inclusive list) 1. Helper 2. Indexer 3. Feeder 4. Packer 5. Catcher 6. Break Relief 7. Other duties as defined. *Equipment may vary by facility. Required Qualifications: * High school diploma or equivalent required OR if not currently obtained, you will be required to get a GED within one year of your hire date to stay employed. Preferred Qualifications: * Bakery Industry experience highly preferred but not required * Previous safety training preferred but not required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: * Understanding of commercial bakeries and bakery equipment * Understands the functionality of ingredients with time and temperature in the baking process * Understands the unique equipment in a bakery production plant, along with operation of that equipment relative to the baking process. Ability to trouble shooting equipment to ensure optimum efficiency and product quality * Oral and Written Communication - Effective (English/Spanish/other) * Personal Computer Skills - Literate with MS Excel, Word. * Electrical and electronic troubleshooting. Working Conditions: Manufacturing Environment Physical Requirements: * The employee must have the ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, squat, bend, reach, push, pull, twist, crawl, climb stairs/ladders, and be able to lift to a maximum of 50 pounds. Other Essential Elements Not Listed Above Include: * Reading, peripheral vision, hearing, understanding scheduling, visual inspection of cake to determine if the product matches stated Quality Standards. Machines/Tools Used: * Putty knife, buckets, rags, paper knife, broom, mop, dollies, hair net and hearing protection. Safety glasses and bump caps may also be used.
