  • Responsibilities

    As an Industrial Project Engineer at Crescent Electric, you will architect, design, specify, install, and integrate industrial control systems. In this role, you will train internal and external customers on industrial-related products. You will work directly with other industrial staff and business units in coordination of projects and day-to-day operations.

    LOCATION:

    • Remote-based position, requiring visits to the office and customers as requested.

    PRIMARY DUTIES :

    • Responsible for new industrial “Engineer to Order” product solutions. Design and development requirements, electrical schematics, bill of materials, and software programming based on customer specifications, Underwriter Laboratories (UL), and engineering best practices.

    • Provide technical and Engineering support to customers, integrators, and suppliers for custom-designed hardware and software to meet specific customer requirements.

    • Develop, implement, and provide advanced and comprehensive technical application assistance in key sales and design situations supporting multiple locations as required.

    • Responsible for pre-sales and post-sales Engineering support for key customers, assuring customers are provided/satisfied with complex technical application assistance.

    • Support Industrial ASM and Account Managers to maintain the business relationship with key customers.

    • Establish and maintain relationships with key Engineering and Management decision-makers within the customer organization and customer-supplier network.

    • Function as a technical resource for our customer base and Crescent personnel. Expedite the resolution of key customer complaints/problems. Represent the company when interfacing with customers at all levels.

    • Apply advanced skills to resolve complex problems not covered by existing procedures or practices.

    • Maintain professional technical competencies through reading, trade meetings, and participation in identified training activities. Attend branch/company meetings and events as required.

    SKILLS:

    • Display a high level of critical thinking in bringing successful resolution to high-impact, complex, and/or cross-functional problems.

    • Willingness and desire to participate in ongoing training to maintain technical competency.

    • Effectively communicate commercial and technical product issues.

    • Able to recognize dangerous situations in Industrial Solutions.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's or technical degree in engineering from a four-year college or university

    • 5 to 10 years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    • Valid Driver’s License, with the ability to travel 50% of the time. Overnight travel may be necessary.
