Human Resources Intern Tracking Code 5953-255 Job Description General Position Summary & Responsibilities: The Human Resources Intern will have the opportunity to directly assist the Human Resources Business Partner and team members with a variety of tasks and projects. This years' projects will focus on Talent Acquisition Strategy Development using Social Media and Leadership Interview Training. This internship is designed to be both educational and practical. In this position, the Intern will learn how to take skills s/he may have acquired in school related to his or her particular areas of interest, and apply them in a professional setting. S/He will gain a better understanding of the role Human Resources can play in a recruiting and leadership training. Required Skills Essential Functions: Build social media recruiting strategy through research, benchmarking, messaging, and audience identification. Generate, edit, publish, and share routine content on various social media sites that builds meaningful connections and increases job seeker engagement. Track and analyze reports to gain insight on traffic, demographics, and effectiveness; utilize this information to positively affect future outcomes. Explore social media channels and build supporting network/pipeline of candidates to communicate open requisitions. Proofread HR documents including audits, marketing information, and handbooks. Measure social media performance in the recruitment area and make recommendations for participation in appropriate channels. Research positions for needed skills and requirements. Drive on-going candidate pool development through continuous networking and pipelining, social media channels, internet mining and job fairs. Develop interview guide, behavioral based interview questions and training for leadership team. Internal Control Responsibilities: ? Supports the Companys Internal Control process which includes understanding, communicating and complying with defined internal controls as well as suggesting and making modifications to the policies, procedures and controls to better relate to the business. Interpersonal Contacts: Internal contacts are by phone and in person with personnel and various management level personnel. External contacts are by phone, e-mail and in person with potential and existing customers, other companies within the industry, and governmental agencies. Required Experience Job Conditions: Inside office environment. Position demands working under pressure to meet tight deadlines.?Workload requires periodic after normal business hours commitment. Physical Activities Required to Perform Essential Functions: Ability to lift and carry up to 10 pounds frequently; to sit for extended periods of time, up to 6 hours; keyboard for extended periods of time, up to 3-6 hours; apply sufficient force to open and close filing drawers; assemble papers, staple, hole-punch, file and photo copy. Ability to communicate by speech and hearing in person and /or by phone in a professional manner.?Visual acuity to perform close detail work, preparing and inspecting documents for accuracy, operating a computer terminal. Qualifications: Currently enrolled college undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a?degree in Human Resources or related field. Proficiency using Microsoft Suite and internet research tools. Excellent communication skills with the ability to confidently and clearly communicate information in writing and verbally. Ability to maintain confidentiality of all aspects of job responsibilities. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Proven people skills. Cooperative attitude with team-oriented disposition. Desire to pursue a professional career in Human Resources. Previous experience/knowledge of an HRIS and hiring/interviewing practices preferred.
