We are currently looking for an individual who will join our team as a Control Systems Engineer, specifically focused on SCADA development, furthering their career within our company as we continue to expand.

    Position Overview

    This position requires technical expertise with regards to SCADA development, PLC programming, and/or system acceptance testing. As part of this role, the employee will split time between the client site and Headquarters office. The clients we serve are in the Mission Critical Facilities space, where safety and reliability are paramount. While serving our clients, individuals fulfilling this position must design/build systems as well as effectively communicate and troubleshoot issues with client operators and stakeholders. The ideal candidate has experience with SCADA programming, onsite acceptance testing, and PLC programming.

    Key Responsibilities

    SCADA programming development

    Field Device configuration and communications setup

    PLC programming - function block diagram and structured text

    Digest technical drawing sets to extract relevant programming information

    Conduct system acceptance testing and troubleshooting to ensure reliability and efficiency

    Provide project updates in client meetings and directly to client operators/engineers

    Positively represent Axiom at professional events

    Thoroughly document lessons learned and opportunities for development improvements

    Stay up to date on industry developments

    Ability to commute daily within the DMV to client site(s) or Axiom DC office

    Additional duties as required

    Qualifications

    Proven ability to collaborate effectively with a cross-functional team

    Prior real-world experience in the Mission Critical Construction Experience

    Certification or credential in SCADA or software control platform

    Certification or credential in PLC/ other relevant controller programming

    Experience with System Integration, Factory or Site Acceptance Testing, or PLC Programming

    2+ years of experience, or a degree related to, the Mission Critical Industry

    Desired Attributes

    Familiarity with Mission Critical facility functionality

    Knowledge of electric power system terms, power flows, system and equipment functions

    Proficiency with GE’s Proficy and Catapult, HMI/SCADA, known as iFIX and iPower or other SCADA applications

    Strong written communication skills

    Great attention to detail

    Strong ability to document step by step testing plans

    Desires to perform acceptance testing on client site on a regular basis

    Ability to capture design intent via drawing set and innovate to meet client designs

    Implement programming changes based on multiple parties or specialists' inputs

    Interested in forming lasting client relationships and building trust

    Able to speak with experts outside of their own knowledgebase

    Ability to efficiently switch between working on multiple projects or systems

    Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities

    Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

    Ability to balance working as a team with self-direction

    Compensation & Benefits

    Salary-exempt position ranging from $75,000 to $90,000
