    Job Description

    POSITION OVERVIEW
    KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools seeks an engaging world cultures teacher for our specials department at KIPP Impact Academy. The world cultures teacher will lead daily social studies instruction and projects across all multiple grade levels. This educator should have a clear vision for social studies instruction across the school and multiple grade levels.

    This is a full-time position that works closely in our existing specials department which includes areas like physical education and music. All teachers are responsible for creating a positive classroom environment, implementing curriculum, assessing students, collaborating with their team, building relationships with families, and other duties as assigned. Full teacher responsibilities are ultimately outlined by their school leader.

    OUR CURRENT MODEL
    The specials schedule and rotations are subject to change and vary school byschool. The specials team consists of multiple teachers across a school community. Some specials area teachers instruct across all grade levels while others might focus on specific grade level rotations. Depending on the subject and schedule, the teacher may travel to classrooms for instruction or have students transition to their own classroom space. Class size is typically ~26 students.

    COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

    Our current starting salary for a first-year lead teacher is $50,000

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor's Degree

    • Relevant Florida Teaching Certification or Eligibility for Certification in Elementary Education K-6.

    • At least one complete year of teaching experience with a proven track-record of high achievement in the classroom

    HIGHLY PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Florida Reading Endorsement (or reading competency coursework in progress) if teaching English Language Arts

    • ESOL Endorsement (or competency coursework in progress)

    • Two or more years of teaching experience with a proven track-record of high achievement in the classroom in a relevant grade level
