  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    As a press operator, you will play a crucial role in the manufacturing process by operating and maintaining progressive die-stamping presses and thread tappers. The primary responsibility will be to set up, adjust, and operate multiple presses and tappers to produce precision parts for our customers. This position will be working with various materials and following strict guidelines to ensure the quality and accuracy of the stamped product.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Follow all established safety, health and Company policies, procedures, and recognized practices
    • Prepare press line by installing dies, adjusting settings, and ensuring proper alignment
    • Safely operate stamping presses and tappers, monitor machine performance, and make real time adjustments to maintain product quality and deadlines
    • Load steel coils onto uncoiler/payoff and move finished product to staging area using forklift
    • Conduct frequent quality checks to ensure stamped parts meet precise dimensional and visual standards, making necessary adjustments as required
    • Perform routine maintenance tasks on the press lines, including cleaning and lubrication
    • Troubleshoot and address any machine/die malfunctions or production issues promptly
    • Maintains a safe, clean, and organized work environment at all times.
    • The 2nd shift schedule is 4:50 p.m. to 2:50 a.m., Monday-Thursday.
    • Training will be on 1st shift for 6 months before transitioning to 2nd shift. The 1st shift schedule is 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday-Thursday.

    Minimum Qualifications/Requirements

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • 2-3 years of industrial experience preferred
    • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
    • Experience with operating a forklift
    • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
    • Effectively communicate in a professional demeanor when dealing with the public or any level of employees
    • Demonstrate good problem-solving skills and possess communication skills
    • Basic computer skills
    • Ability to work overtime

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee could be exposed to extreme heat and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
    • Safety toed with slip resistant shoes, safety glasses and earplugs are required on the plant floor
