2nd shift production supervisory for a Tier One Automotive supplier $60-$65K/yr2p-10p
Job Summary:
Responsible for assigned production area and ownership of all activities within the assigned area. Must meet production goals. Must be able to treat employees fairly and in a consistent manner. Motivate people, discipline, when necessary, uphold company policies, UAW contract and decisions. Train new employees. Responsible for safety, efficiency, and productivity on the respective shift.
Duties/Responsibilities:
? Responsible for the direction/supervision of employees on his/her shift in the assigned area.
? Generate accurate production reports daily.
? Instruct and enforce safety procedures and protocol.
? Responsible for cleanliness and organization of the plant.
? Ensure operational, downtime, safety and quality escalation is being followed.
? Must maintain acceptable levels of productivity, with adherence to production standards and rates.
? Ensure all scrap generated on the shift is accurately reported and moved to the MRB area including scrap generated in the feeder cells.
? Adhere to production schedules and lineup, making changes as needed to meet customer demand.
? Assist in the verification of outgoing shipments.
? Maintain employee training and accurate recording of records.
? Recommend employment status changes of personnel to the Operations Manager and/or Human Resources.
? Manage resources for operational efficiencies.
? Ensure production boards are completed for all areas of responsibility.
? Must promote safety awareness throughout the facility.
? Must be capable of process troubleshooting all related equipment in their respective assigned area.
? Must be capable of performing minor maintenance functions within their respective area.
? Responsible for resolving any quality problems as an active member of the Quality Team.
? Must verify timecards for account accuracy on a daily basis and keep current EOH and AOD input.
JOB DESCRIPTION
? Must lead/direct continuous improvement activity on the shop floor. Must help develop/maintain lean (5S/Kaizan, etc.) standards in accordance with lean manufacturing principles.
? Other assignments and responsibilities as required to support organizational and team objectives.

Qualifications:
? Associate or bachelor’s degree, with a minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing operation, or an equivalent combined level of education and experience.
? Must be capable of troubleshooting.
? Accurate and organized record keeping.
? Consistency in responsibility for shift performance, exercising appropriate delegation and sound judgment.
? Excellent communication skills.
? Must be responsive to employee problems or needs.
? Must be capable of effectively interfacing with all levels of the workforce.
? May be required to stand for long periods of time.
? Good attendance record.
