    Job Description

    We are 360Works, a small but growing company with offices located in the Alpharetta/Roswell area (off GA-400 & Holcomb Bridge Road) in a very casual and friendly work atmosphere. We create custom software solutions using primarily FileMaker Pro and Java, and sometimes other technologies like Amazon Web Services, JavaScript, and C++. Projects tend to be small and diverse, which keeps things interesting - you will do and learn a lot at this job!

    We are seeking candidates for a junior developer position. This is an opportunity for an intelligent, hard-working person to get a fast start on a software development career. You will start by developing customer AWS hosting automation scripts, helping support our products with customers via phone and e-mail, and internal IT management tasks. As part of this process, you will learn software development with Java, JavaScript, FileMaker Pro, and the AWS SDK. You will gradually move out of a tech support role into a full time development position.

    Any prior work experience in programming or technical support is good but not required. If you do not have prior experience then you must be able to demonstrate either a personal or work/school project that you've done involving software development in any language.

    During the training period your responsibilities would include:

    • Creating, updating, and fixing automation processes for managing our internal servers, as well as customer hosted servers

    • Providing technical support via phone and email for 360Works software products

    • Reporting and reproducing product issues, and sometimes writing unit test cases

    • Reporting/correcting product documentation issues

    After completing the FileMaker Certification Exam www.filemaker.com/learning/developer-careers/certification you would transition to a more development-oriented role, which would include:

    • Gathering requirements from clients for technical specs

    • Writing project proposals

    • Design and implementation of custom solutions

     

    Job Requirements:

    • High school diploma minimum, college courses or degree preferred

    • Some database and/or software development skills or classes in any programming language, such as Java, PHP, C/C++/C#, Ruby, Python, JavaScript, AppleScript, Visual Basic, Flash, FileMaker Pro, or SQL. You will be required to submit examples of code you have written, either as a personal project, school project, or a job assignment.

    • Excellent communication and English language skills

    • Must be a permanent resident in the Atlanta, GA area able to work onsite Mon-Fri from our Roswell office location

     

    Benefits include paid lunch / snacks, reimbursement for your mobile phone, casual dress, little to no travel, retirement plans with automatic company contributions (after two years), health insurance, dental insurance, work from home days (after certification), and 3-5 weeks paid time off.

    During your training period (typically about 6 months), starting salary is $35-$50K, depending on education and experience. After training period and passing a certification exam, you will become eligible for bonuses based on billable hours. Including the bonus, average salary for certified developers is $81K. Company stock purchase plans are available after 2 years of employment.
