Classroom Teacher Job Description

Nazareth serves children from several school districts in Preschool through Grade 6. A Grade 5 Teacher position is currently open for the 2024-2025 school year.

IMPORTANT QUALITIES / SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

· A love for children and a desire to work with a diverse student population in a small, faith-filled learning environment

· Belief in the importance of educating the whole child

· Ability to collaborate with administration, faculty, staff and parents

· Excellent communication skills, including writing skills; strong listening skills

· Flexibility, organizational skills, and ability to maintain confidentiality

· Willingness to uphold the values and mission of Nazareth Elementary as a Catholic school

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

· NYS certification in education at the elementary level (initial or working toward permanent certification)

· Quality teaching experiences at the early childhood or primary level

· Proficiency in Microsoft and Google programs, use of Smartboard technology and Chromebooks for instruction.
