Prior Authorization Specialist PAY RATE: $17.00 per hour

Position Highlights:

· Remote work but candidates must live in San Antonio, TX Texas

Prior Authorization Specialist HOURS:

Monday - Friday 8:00am-5:00pm (OT potential)

Prior Authorization Specialist Job Description:

• Initiate authorization requests for outpatient and inpatient services in accordance with the prior authorization list.
• Route to appropriate staff when needed.
• Verify eligibility and benefits
• Process faxes within established standards, follow up outbound calls (can answer phone queue occasionally)
• Data enters authorizations into the system

Prior Authorization Specialist Required Skills:

• · 2+ years of medical experience in authorizations or claims processing practices in managed care setting.
• Typing speed of 40 WPM or more
• · Knowledge and experience with prior authorizations process
• · Knowledge of Health insurance (Medicaid and Medicare)
• · Time management
• · Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• · High School Diploma or GED
